    novak shift linkage =dissapiontment

The Boostwerks linkage for a manual trans was designed wrong, with the wrong throw ratios, and would hit everything in sight and likely never work. Maybe they fixed it, but the mistake was so rooky that it was laughable at best, and clearly demonstrated that they had no actual understanding of...

    novak shift linkage =dissapiontment

Both the Boostwerks and Novak shifters are total overpriced garbage and if they work satisfactory it is merely by chance. Edit, Novak products in general tend to leave a lot to be desired.

    LS Swap Header Options

I ordered the S10 conversion set. I decided the C10 set would be less likely to work because the driver's side will dump too far back. I do have another motivation to ordering the 'wrong' parts. I have a 66 Gladiator that is slowly getting pieced together, and I know I can fit them on it if...

    LS Swap Header Options

Where did I say I was going with the Novaks? I'm not even going to use their mounts... Edit, how come they cost $660 to modify? Dare I ask?

    LS Swap Header Options

Looks like they turn outwards too much. And at that price I won't gamble, as it costs me massive amounts to ship things back (I live in Canada).

    LS Swap Header Options

It's on NAXJA too, they're Novak ones, he says something to effect that the Novak mounts bent him over a barrel and require their headers. There's discussion of them VS the S10 conversion headers too, and they are different, at least in the Sanderson brand.

    LS Swap Header Options

The Novaks are Sandersons. Sure it wasn't just the Novak ones? Edit, 99% certain he used Novak ones. Either way, Sanderson headers are the same price as Novak, and they're the same product with the same limitation, I don't want crap mild steel headers.

Yet the Chinese have perfected it at a fraction of the cost!

    LS Swap Header Options

I hate ceramic coating as I think it's an expensive solution that doesn't really solve a problem, however given how much I hate rusted plain steel, and the poor performance of any DIY header coatings I have tried, it is an option I will consider. I'd rather just go with 3xx stainless and be...

Thanks for linking me to something I discussed in my opening post!

    LS Swap Header Options

I've been poking around looking at header options for an LS swap, and I've hit enough of a wall that I had to dust off my username here to ask. I have three known solutions. The Novak ones. Pricey, especially for the ceramic coated ones at $520 USD. Hooker LS Manifolds...

    AX-15 max input torque?

A CRD probably out-revs my clanker. But that is a good point. I might have to hit up the libby forums and see if any of them drive them hard enough to blow their trans up. After all, they did use a BA10/5 Peugeot behind the 4.0L in the past, so I have little faith in some of the 'engineering...

    AX-15 max input torque?

However, it might work well for me since my engine governs out at about 2900rpm, and has destructive harmonics at about 3400. Of course, it makes plenty of torque across the whole of the rather limited rpm range, so it actually wouldn't be needed. But the question would remain then... Would...

    AX-15 max input torque?

It's rated for 300ft-lbs on the dot. Not sure if I trust it to survive 275-280ft-lbs continuous (at 1800rpm for that matter). It would have the bell housing that would bolt up to the other adapter... I think GM used a different spline output though (32 maybe?), but perhaps I should look it up.
