Cleaning the throttle body gone bad

Thanks again for all the info fellas. I removed the IAC, and cleaned that along with the throttle body. I fired it up, and she ran normal. The idle didn't drop off, or stall out like it had been.....Actually it had been doing that earlier this evening when I was driving it around. I drove it...

Cleaning the throttle body gone bad

Thanks for the help so far fellas. I'm going to run the rig over to Autozone tonight to have them check run a test on my check engine light (I'm going cheap :) ) After that, I'm going to try to get the IAC off (hopefully tonight). I recently purchased some carb/choke cleaner, will that be...

Cleaning the throttle body gone bad

Yes, the engine starts right back up after dieing. It doesn't seem to stumble a whole lot, it just kind of quietly dies when idiling. When I first start it up it seems to run fine, but it seems like after it warms......the idle gets progressively lower. When I idle the RPMs fluctuate, between...

Cleaning the throttle body gone bad

Great info, thanks. How do I check for vacuum leaks? I'm pretty new with all of this. Do you think it's the IAC?

Cleaning the throttle body gone bad

So, would a bad/ dirty IAC cause it to idle very low too? My 2001 Cherokee stalls at intersections when idiling. I'm going to try to pull off the IAC and clean it up a bit tonight. Any recommended carb cleaner? Any tricks involved?

    Stalling issue when idiling

Hey guys, I'm relatively new here and need some feedback. I've been having some issues with my Jeep as of late. It started with it going dead one day. It acted as if the battery was completely dead. I charged it up, and got it started........though it acted like it wanted to stall. The...

    CPS Swap

Hey fellas, I just wanted to follow up with a thank you. I got my Jeep fixed tonight, I finally got the right tools and got the CPS swapped out. I crossed my finger and said a prayer when I turned it over.......and it fired up!...........after 1 and a half months of "NO BUS" errors. It was...

    CPS Swap

Hey fellas, I was working on my jeep trying to replace the CPS today. I got the bottom nut out alright, but ran into trouble with the top one. Any suggestions, or tips? I have a couple to sockets, and a 3" and 6" extension. I just want to get this damn thing done! :) Thanks. By the way, I...

    CPS Swap

Great info fellas. Will I be able to do this from under the car, or above? It's tough to get a good angle, any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!

    CPS Swap

Excellent, thanks for the information I really appreciate it. One other thing, if I have a Chilton's manuel from 1984-1996 would it be the same if I used it on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee? I looked online and noticed that Haynes had the dates from 1984-2001 in the same manuel. I wasn't sure if they...

    CPS Swap

Hi fellas, I'm a newbee who doesn't know much about cars.... Anyhow, I have a 2001 Cherokee Sport. A few weeks back I drove it around in a very heavy rainstorm, and it ran fine. Anyhow, the next day I went to try and start it, and my engine cranked over, but it wouldn't start. My odomoter...
