    No bus

If it's the same as my 99' there is a ground connection under the center console where the parking brake bracket is. I remember disconnecting that and getting a no bus error. Reconnecting it fixed it.

    Rebuilt 8.25 w/ Yukon 3.55 gears question

I got new bearings, seals, and gears. I will talk to the shop owner about the issue to get it figured out. The noise seems to go to a higher pitch when unloaded (like coasting down a hill) but still has a howl when loaded.

    Rebuilt 8.25 w/ Yukon 3.55 gears question

Hello, I was able to have a shop rebuild the 8.25 in my 99 XJ as I do not have the tools/experience to set one up right. The gears whined really bad at all speeds above 25 and even louder on any decel which seemed common research. I looked up the break in procedures and I'm following them for...

Does anyone know if this part can be ordered anywhere?

Thanks for this. I realized I put the wrong part number. It is actually 5205 8882

Does anyone know if this part can be ordered anywhere?

The part number is 5200 2334 - Transmission mount bracket. It bolts to the transmission and the transmission mount bolts to it. It also has the rubber box that connects to the exhaust as a mount/isolator. I cannot seem to find it anywhere. I may call some junkyards but I was hoping I could...

    2001 Sport Rear Hatch Light

Sounds like a sensor problem. I don't have that much experience with this but there must be a sensor in the rear hatch that causes the light to go on. Similar to the door ajar sensors

99 XJ Transmission mount bracket help

Hello, 99 XJ 142k miles I am having trouble finding the part number for the bracket with the exhaust isolater. The big rubber block that attaches to the exhaust separated from the bracket. The exhaust is hitting that metal part of the bracket occasionally. Does anyone know the part number for...

    Seats comfort issue

I have a 99 XJ with the typical seats where there is no adjustable headrest, it is just built into the seat. When I lean my head back my neck hits around the top of the headrest. Does anyone know a way to alleviate this? It's mostly a problem on long drives where I want to rest my head a bit haha.

    Suggestions for handling interior smells?

Have you used the Febreze Auto fabric spray or just regular febreze? The Auto spray always seemed to work for me. You can also try the meguiars car spray bomb. Really the source of the smell has to be eliminated. Anything else is a temporary solution.

99 XJ Cruise Control Set Speed

My base has speed limits of 30 with some long stretches. The security forces are known to pull people over doing 31. Kind of strict honestly. The 30mph set speed has been useful in my other vehicles on many occasions.

99 XJ Cruise Control Set Speed

Is there a way to lower the set speed for the cruise control? Currently, it is programmed to engage above 35mph. I was wondering if I could get it down to 25-30 mph. I don't think I'm desperate enough to do this but I was thinking of installing a universal rostra as I could get is set speed...

    Blend Door Question

Can you update with how this works out? I'm having a similar issue where the heat is just "ok" on a cold day. The heat gets better with higher RPMs (more flow in the heater core?) But definitely not as hot as I've known jeeps to get (had another XJ and an LJ for a while).

Does your steering wheel return mostly to center?

I guess tight new ball joints make sense. I've tried to check them and it seems that the new lower ball joints are way stiffer than the uppers. I think the ball joints used were from 1aauto.

Does your steering wheel return mostly to center?

There doesn't seem to be any difference between hot and cold. I know the drag link/ends, tie rod and tie rod ends, steering stabilizer, track bar, front axle u joints, ball joints, rotors, wheel bearings, and brake pads were all replaced 2000mi ago. They are not greaseable. Nothing before the...
