D30 HP is a shim style pinion, there should be no play in the pinion, it needs pre load its more of a feel thing. I usually shim the bearings until it has a slight drag. Hard to explain but ill try, if you try to spin the pinion quick and it spins no problem its too loose. If you spin the pinion...
I would personally get a duramax for the simple fact that everything around the cummins is garbage, front and rear ends constantly go out on dodges, wiring is a nightmare and the autos are utter trash. I prefer a cummins over a dmax, but a dmax is still an excellent motor with plenty of power...
Wow had no idea u had to seal threads on head bolts.. Never have come across that. I would say the block deck is warped or cracked if the head has been surfaced and passed a magnuflux/pressure test.
Hey everyone so i got a 96 xj 4.0 auto. Anyways when im out on the trail my jeep will start idling really rough and when i go to rev it up it will miss like its running on 4 cylinders. Then i bounce limiter a couple times and it cleans it up. But as soon as it goes back down to idle it will...
Yeah i looked at it again and thought that would be the case, the way the diagram was written up i couldnt tell if one side was power and one was ground or if the computer sensed when to send power to each solenoid makes sense now
I found this pic which helps but im unsure of how to wire the switches in? Like how would i make it to where the tranny gets overridden it seems with this setup the tcu would still work as it normally would
First off ive looked at multiple threads and am confused by everyone of them. How do i hook up a switch that when turned on will hold my 96 xj aw4 tranny in 1st when shifted into the 1-2 position. And when turned off will Act as it normally should. I hate doing a hill climb and the rig shifting...
Did you lube the caliper slides? And the backsides of the pads and clips? Was the piston easy to compress? If not it needs new calipers, make sure and lube it up. Buy centric 105 or 106 series pads, they are great. I put them on HD rigs at work that burn thru pads. Is your MC lines hooked up...
Well i had similar symptoms in my 4.0 v6 ranger (ohv motor) where id be in gear, 2500 rpms or higher and letting of the throttle or very light load in hear it would rattle from the engine, ended up pulling the motor to find that all my rod journals were shot and the valvetrain was severely...
I dont know which is better but sometimes the warranty is useless imo, id rather have a product thatll last than to keep throwing chinese crap at the rig.. But as far as numbers go the crown seems to fit your bill better.. But again ive never tried either..
