    Had a somewhat similar problem on my 1995 YJ years ago, was due to weak valve springs. A swap to fresh springs solved the problem.

    oil pump removal

    Did an oil pump on my 1994 4.0 liter, just had to finagle the pan around the front axle, no need to remove the exhaust. x2 on pulling the fuel pump relay until you have oil pressure.

    Struck out with Rockland Standard Gear, they said they could order it if I wanted 120 of them and would wait a few months. My local Chrysler dealer said they are no longer available? Any other sources? Chris

    kastein, When I said steering gear, I meant the whole tie-rod set-up, not the power gearbox, didn't realize my error until after I read it. I think regardless of what my root cause is, I am going with the ZJ-tie-rods, the price is not too bad for all MOOG parts from www.rockauto.com

    AX-15 Select Fit Snap Ring

    I am rebuilding an AX-15 out of a 1994 4.0 liter. The select fit snap ring that retains the 3-4 hub assembly cracked and split as I removed it. Any one know where to source one? I have an e-mail into Rockland Standard Gear. Thanks.
