ZJ seat install, front and rear. Write-up and pics.

Wow, what a testament to the love of these vehicles! When I had gotten the ‘96 back from the in-laws and started working on it (which ended up wasted effort) my youngest was 7 years old...she’ll be driving next summer! I’ll probably find a ZJ or a WJ, simply because the prices of ZJ’s that...

ZJ seat install, front and rear. Write-up and pics.

Wow! I haven’t been here in three years...time flies...my ‘96 crapped out on me- wouldn’t idle hardly at all and shook and clanked if it did. A week at a Jeep specialist shop and $700 in labor later, and 3 different Jeep mechanics couldn’t figure it out. So, it got sold for the body parts to...

floor pan replacement- what are you doing about the seat mount re-inforcements?

thanks- that is sorta what I had 'built' in my mind to bend if I needed to...I have a sheet of 16g big enough to make the driver's side I believe, so I might just try it. My angle iron 'L' brackets leave much to be desired, and I don't know that I can trust them to hold up. I would hate to get...

floor pan replacement- what are you doing about the seat mount re-inforcements?

Yeah they appear to be 16 gauge, but I don't have a brake -or a vice to bend it straight...

floor pan replacement- what are you doing about the seat mount re-inforcements?

'96 Country...typical floor pan rust. In the last throws of welding/patching floor pans in. When getting the old floors out, I destroyed my front seat reinforcements- the upside down 'U' channel that the 2 front seat mounts bolt into. These have been discontinued and are no longer available-...

    HELP!!!!

it it is the flexplate it can be replaced by only unbolting the tranny from the engine and moving it back far enough to work. Get under there and remove the inspection cover, and get a wrench on a nut and turn it completely around, looking for cracks or loose bolts. I've had to tighten them up...

Pinion angle experts- how's mine look?

Ok, I put a magnetic base angle finder on the DS, it shows 14 degrees. I put it on the 2 flat spots on top of the rear diff, above/behind where the DS connects, it reads about 7 degrees. Does this sound right? What shims would I need?

will a bad Torque Converter cause driveline vibes

it's a 96. I did the RE Hack-n-Tap with front DS mod, because I had some vibes witht the stock shaft at 2", and replaced all 3 u-joints in the front shaft I used. I actually redid the u joints...it didn't feel right, and I pulled it apart and found a needle bearing had fallen over in one, so i...

will a bad Torque Converter cause driveline vibes

...? Torque converter is going out presumably. I had vibes around 35 mph and again at 65 mph after a BB with 2" AAL's. I lowered my Transfer case crossmember 1 inch to see if that would help the vibes, and they are gone except for at 65 mph still getting bad vibes. If i put it in neutral it...

not as cool A/C and overheating...coincidence?

All of a sudden, I'm getting temp gauge readings almost to the red. Running the heater cools it down slowly. So I replace the thermostat, flushed and filled the coolant. Old coolant looked fine. Noticed today the A/C not blowing as cold. Any relation here? '96 4.0 with 93,000 miles, AW4 auto tranny
