    What is the timing?

White porcelain on well used plugs=bad lean condition. White specks on colored porcelain on well used plugs= detonation and burning of pistons or valves

95 XJ Pulsing Vibration At Highway Speed

It's probably the front axle pinion angle

    Exhaust manifold recommendations

Not other than my 91 ran a lot cooler under the hood than my current 2000. Literally everything under the hood of the 2000 is hot as .... Especially in the summer, never really noticed it that hot on my 91 except in summer. Since everything else under the hood is basically identical, except the...

Also. The manifolds are cast iron, not cast steel. There is a huge difference

    Exhaust manifold recommendations

It's the fact that cast iron is much more mass, nothing to do with actual thermal conductivity. The extra mass radiates heat longer causing more heat soak plus they just flow poorly

Rewelding stainless header will just crack again. It's like aluminum, 1 and done. Stainless needs as small a weld and HAZ as possible, and the material matters. I'm tempted to go banks but those also crack. I have a 2000 with the cast manifold I want to ditch to help under hood temps, I don't...

    Exhaust manifold recommendations

The welds on my atp were horrible looking, definitely not like hooker or hedman headers. It cracked the same place as my original, where the tubes come together, except it's a much larger crack. Part of the problem is they are stainless, plain steel doesnt have the cracking issue but can rust...

    Steering box repair

Good luck finding replacement bearings and it's usually a worn out sector shaft and the recirculating bearings. Not sure if Lee of Lee steering gears(used to do NASCAR boxes)still does rebuilds or can provide parts

My atp cracked not long after installing it, maybe 6 months? Yes, my engine mounts we're good, no I didn't have an exhaust flex. It could have been a poorly made one since they are mass produced in china, probably by someone who doesn't know how to weld stainless or it's a poor quality stainless

    New Km3's

My ko2 suck in ANY snow. From a dusting to 6". I will not take the tj anywhere in snow until I burn through these tires and replace them. Like I said, my duratracs do 10x better in everything but the tire noise department, and the bighorns better than those except noisier when they got low tread...

    New Km3's

I have new ko2 on my tj and they are the worst tire I've ever used in the snow. I'm in North Idaho. I used to have the original maxxis bighorn that did awesome before they changed the tread design and narrowed the lugs. Used those bighorns on my xj to push axle deep snow for hours on end around...

    Inner C truss?

There should be a total in.lbs rolling torque for the pinion/carrier. If that's within range you should be ok but that doesn't mean the pinion is correct. Too loose a pinion preload or no pre load is just as bad as too tight unless excessive tight. I always aim for middle of the road preload...

Hesco (Melling) High Volume Oil Pump

I've read anecdotal stories about the hv pump tearing up the cam gears and distributor drive in the 4.0. I have no experience in it myself. I have seen sbc/BBC suck stock pans dry but at higher rpms than the Jeep see's, but that's probably more to do with inadequate drainback holes in the...

Hesco (Melling) High Volume Oil Pump

Have you seen any issues with excessive timing chain or distributor/cam gear wear with the high volume pump? What about oil starvation or is there enough drain back to keep the sump full? Thinking I might need a high volume due to bearing clearances on rebuild since the machine shop just...
