Hi: If you opt to make some custom long arms yourself be prepared for some precision fabrication and welding-Here is a little example of what I have done using someone's plagiarized write-up..first I want to go on record and thank whomever was the original author and I apologize for some of the...

..yeah here in the Midwest this "Cash for Clunkers " deal is really haveing an adverse effect on the effort to obtain many XJ engine and body parts-My ol 1986 has rusted apart mostly everywhere due to the seasonal phenomena of salting the streets here in winter-I recently attempted and failed...
Nice technical contribution to the forum-Well documented and informative -Will serve as the basis for my 3-link longarm setup useing 1.75 DOM tubeing-Welds look pretty impressive-Don't know how much it will cost but in my personal case I'll be going to some local welding professional to do...
Needing to locate some 3-link components and possible vendors-Does anybody here at the NAXJA forums know whose product this is or where I can find this
3-link driver's side frame mount bracket or something similiar and or if this 3-link driver's side upper arm
can be purchased...
Looking for a smooth and decent ride went useing the XJ on the streets and I am presently in the process of assembling some DOM longarms and looking at purchaseing the axle end components-Also have been advised that I will need some type of shock preventing rubber or polyurethane...
..good point RCman,.
.I don't show it in the above fotos, but I am tying everything together with an additional two 1/2" inch bolts though the sides of the frame rail and incorporating an angle iron "L" concept :
If you can visualize this as looking at what hilarously passes as our "rice paper...
..ahh,..just what I wanted to hear-I was haveing some lingering suspiction about this very expensive DOM and the 2"-inch DOM being somewhat too bulky and heavy for the XJ even after re-enforceing the the "frame rail " channel with boxed tube
for the frame attach points-I used some 3 larger...
I have found some old homebrew longarms plans

..ruff stuff and ballistic fabrication are some of the vendors, so ...
...."I'm on it as we speak"..-Thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction- I'll take a good look also at useing some boxed tube for that frame...
First of all I want to thank whomever I got this idea and foto from and was wondering if anyone here at the NAXJA forum knew who makes this item
and if this driver's side 3-link component and frame mount ONLY is available for sale-If anyone can add any additional details or suggestions...
.. 89RockHeep,.. et al
I am going to be thinking of changeing over to fabricating some longarm mounts out of boxed tubeing ,..seems much simpler now and clearer from some of the sage commentaries comeing from many here on the NAXJA forum and perhaps one upper arm mount on the driver's side...
.."thats alot of work,"..-
Not really-Have ye ole Hypotherm plasma cutter and hot Miller welder-I am opting for either useing this spare 3" inch by 3" inch ,3/8" walled boxed steel tubeing , which would be a very low cost saveing option or fabricating up some thicker brackets if there are...
