05 Liberty Renegade 4x4, help identify the diff

That link is to your C drive.....

05 KJ with LSD. Change to Open

So I have verified onthe build sheet that it has the Anti-Spin option. This is of course, the locrite/LSD that my investigation has lead me to believe I had. Does that mean it's got LSD front and rear? I haven't investigated up front yet

05 KJ with LSD. Change to Open

That is of course an option, but I already have 2 Dana 44s in the yard for another project. Also, I am not sure what to look for to find a 3.55 ratio open diff complete axle

05 KJ with LSD. Change to Open

I have an 05 Liberty Renegade, 4x4, 6spd, 3.7, ChryCo 8.25...., 1 previous owner was a non-wheeler, and the LSD has severely chipped spider gears. Spider gears are unavailable to R&R, so no easy fix. Can't even find a takeout carrier on Fleabay to steal them from. Can't swing a full R&P job at...

05 Liberty Renegade 4x4, help identify the diff

It is most definitely a ChryCo 8.25. Which would be 29 spline. Think they upgraded in 97, at any rate this is well away from the 27 spline days so it is definitely 29. That isn't the question, though. The question is how to identify if it's open or LSD. I would. Ordinarily just try to spin the...

05 Liberty Renegade 4x4, help identify the diff

Glove box stickers, build sheets a D such are long gone.. While doing maintenance on the diff found the magnet holding big chips of spider gears. Ring and pinion are good. 3.55 ratio. The wheels do not appear to rotate in opposite directions appreciably.. . Ie, the little bit they do, is maybe...

Project Unicorn - a light duty trail rig

Go to Tractor supply. Buy a stirrup for like $12. Bolt it into the floorpan- they can flip it in/out when needed. Lots of laughs to be had. :)

    NP231 Black Fluid.....

This. I have always wondered about the ability to add a cooler. I think the easiest approach would be to attach a heatsink to the bottom- but that brings issues with impact and the like. Very likely, the best answer is to run a high quality synthetic and not worry about it.

Knuckle rotation questions - caster change

I didn't realize you had folks doing this to a 44. I have to ask, why on earth? Whybput a unit bearing on a 44? If i wanted unit bearings on a 44,I'd just buy a TJ Rubicon with its wannabe 44

Knuckle rotation questions - caster change

Is that a different bolt pattern? I see two patterns on the foreground rotor.

Knuckle rotation questions - caster change

Before I put that kind of money into polishing a turd, I'll just install D44s. It was a long shot.

Knuckle rotation questions - caster change

How much are we talking to pull off the WJ conversion, and does it require different wheels?

    NP231 Black Fluid.....

A similar trick is done to 700R4 trannies to strengthen them. Use the 6 pinion planetaries from the 4L65E

    NP231 Black Fluid.....

Yes, they should be neither a loose nor difficult fit. I think you've found your failure mode.

    NP231 Black Fluid.....

This. At the very least, the oil pump needs to be replaced. It may well have been the failure to begin with (I am betting that is the case).. the OP failed, the shift fork nylons melted, the fork gouged the component it contacts (drawing a blank- shift collar?) and frag went throughout the...
