Sounds right. In my case, the rust is mostly stopped just ahead of the seat cross brace, so I guess I'll just cut the new panel to fit from there to the front.

Has anybody bought the replacement floor panels from Quadratech? I just got a front drivers side section, and I'm about to start cutting out the rust. Just eyeballing it, it looks a little long. Should these fit right in, without messing with the cross bar that the front seat bolts to?

So do ALL old XJs have the symptom of a melted connector block behind the fan control? I went to the boneyard looking for a replacement part because I think mine might be malfunctioning, and every one I looked at had some degree of deformation of the plastic connector block right behind the fan...

Hmm, you think it's just a coincidence that this happened right after I was mucking around the dash with the headlight switch? It should be pretty easy to replace the HVAC switch, since I just was in the dash, just plug-n-play, right?
