    Really High Idle

If you boys are ever in my neck of the woods I owe you a beer. New o-rings, and cleaning a lot of built up crap in the o-ring seating area, and she's purring like a kitten again.

    how deep are the rockers?

Looks like its right around 4 1/2" but that is which quite abit of the rocker cut off, it looks like it could be a little less deep if you didn't cut up as high as mine is cut off.

    Really High Idle

First of all, this is on a 97, 4.0, auto, basically stock engine-wise except a cat back exhaust. I mostly drive my jeep in the winter, so it sits most of the summer to save on gas money, so I haven't really driven it in the last 6 months or so. I did move it around the driveway, and I replaced...

HF 1 ton or 2 ton cherry picker

I have the 2 ton and it pulled a 5.3/4l60e and the transfer case out in one shot. We missed a bolt and it started unloading the front suspension too, so it could handle more weight than that, and it was totally stable the whole time.

    Found Rust/Rot! Need Advice Please

Just be careful if the metal is galvanized. Welding on galvanized metal causes some nasty fumes that can make you feel like shit (ask me how I know)

New wheels and tires for the XJ & ZJ

Looks really good. I had those on my Cherokee when I bought it, but they had the dodge charger tires mounted on them, so it looked a bit off. If they stuck out a bit more I would have probably kept them. good looking rig!

Welding question for all you welders out there

Are you certain the welder is in good working order? Can you take it to another outlet to test and make sure? Contacts inside the welder can wear out over time and cause issues. I have sent 3 welders in for repair since September for various internal issues.

    strange turn signal issue

Whoops, forgot about that. It is a 1997, auto, 4.0, manual windows/locks.

    strange turn signal issue

I have had a strange issue with my turn signals since I started driving my Cherokee after a few months of not driving it. Both turn signals work, but both have their own weird issues, all the bulbs are stock replacements, and all in good condition. My left blinker will work if I push the...

LED light bar mounting options w/o roof rack

I really like the looks of those mounts, the only problem is that I already have a straight light bar, got it from a friend who changed his mind and got a 30" bar instead.

LED light bar mounting options w/o roof rack

thatxjguy, I have read your build thread probably 10 times while bored at work because my rig is also gunmetal pearl. I really like the lightbar mounts, but I am thinking that without a roof rack it might look goofy. I just don't want to end up looking like a cop car with a big bar up top...

LED light bar mounting options w/o roof rack

I came into a good deal on a 50" light bar, so now I am looking for some different mounting options. There is one catch, I don't have a roof rack, and I don't really want to add one if I don't have to. This has left me struggling to find many mounting options. Since I don't have a roof rack...

94 XJ fast idle like 2000 rpm

And the money saved by buying a diagnostic tool will more than likely be made back the first time you don't just "throw parts at it" One of my friends almost dropped $250 on a mass air flow sensor for his audi when all it took was some poking around to find a loose ground.

    whining noise in 4wd

First of all, this is on a 1997 xj, high pinion front axle, 4.0, automatic with the part time transfer case. I put a lift on over the summer, but the noise was the same when it was all stock. So anyway, I have a whining noise that happens mostly when coasting, but I can hear it when I'm on the...

floor pan replacement- what are you doing about the seat mount re-inforcements?

If you have a work bench or table you can beat on a bit, you can make a poor man's brake. Get a piece of angle iron and 2 c-clamps. Then put the metal on your table, put the piece of angle over it and clamp it down to the table. You can hammer the piece of metal to your desired shape. It's...
