I did mine in 2-3 hours in my driveway. If that helps on the time requirement, not sure on the recommendation on DIY. If you do attempt it make sure the wiring is correct on the fuel pump. My first fuel pump was wired backwards and it all had to come out again to switch the wires.
On my '88 There was a coolant temperature sensor on the top of the motor near the firewall. I think it had a small electrical sensor on it. What you need to do is park on an incline so that sensor is the highest point on the motor and remove the sensor slowly and not all the way. Once it stops...
Well, I'm giving up.... I'm going to keep my eyes open when I drive around, but I can't spend all my time looking for it. Thanks for the ideas and suggestions.
I've been looking around for the Jeep and the guy with no luck. I talked to the police on Friday and they still don't care. The detective didn't realize that it was stolen with a ramp truck, even though my police report makes that very clear. Its starting to get rather frustrating.
I doubt the...
Update:
I might have seen the guy last night. I am hopeful that I can get his plate number or follow him home. At least I think he still is from the area, so I can keep up my searching.
Some info on the guy that came by and was asking all the questions.
He does not seem like he was too into Jeeps.
He appeared to be brazillian / Portugese
Approximately 5'8", 225-250 lbs, Stocky
Short hair, could not tell the color.
Was wearing work clothes and boots
His Jeep was a 1987 Jeep...
My neighbors did not see anything. This weekend we had a lot of rain so it was tough to see anything. I put this up on a few local boards, but I've been spending most of my time driving around looking for it, or the guy that stopped by in the silver Jeep. I live on a main road (RT 135) so it was...
All,
On Sunday 4.15.07 my Jeep (1988 Grey Cherokee) was stolen from my driveway in Ashland Mass. It was not mobile and was removed with a ramp truck. I believe its still in the Framingham, Ashland, Hopkinton Area. If you saw anything or know where this vehicle is I would like it back.
The Jeep...
I'm confused... You have 13 posts and two didn't get an answered... I wouldn't worry about it and press on. I use this board for a wealth of information and its great....
Good luck!
Sounds like your wheel cylinder went bad. I personally don't know of any online sources for information about doing the brake job, but I'd spend the $15 to get a Chiltons or a Haynes repair manual from the parts store if you are going to tackle this yourself.
I took a 8' piece of half round molding and cut it in half. Put the first peice above the grab handles in the front and one directly above the passenger's heads. Cost about $3.... The peices of trim are sprung into place.
I heard that the optimas have a higher return/failure rate so I got a Exide Orbital. The orbital is a gel battery as well. So far its been great, especially on those really cold days last year. Its a big battery and runs about $120.
This should be normal. The jeep computer makes it rev up for about a second. If it sticks at 2000 ish RPM, you might need to clean the Air stepper motor on the throttle body. Just pull the two screws and inspect it. Make sure the seal goes in tight.
