    PCM Acting Up??? Advice

It is a 96 XJ with stock pcm and harness. The motor is out of a 2000 XJ, it was converted back to distributor driven ignition. After cranking it today, it ran wonderful at first, but after about 5-10 minutes idle and voltage drop a little and lights kinda flicker. So I turn it off to see if it...

    PCM Acting Up??? Advice

So I have a 96 XJ, we just put a 2000 motor in... Ran great for a while until I noticed no battery charge while running... My first thought is alternator, tested bad and we replaced it. New alternator, charged battery.... crank it, runs at 12.5volts still. Turn it off and try cranking it back...

my ford 9 inch question of the day...

Should be fine, just set the pinion angle correct as stated before... You might want to fill your diff up with a little more fluid than spec.

how do i test my alt?

5-90, You must sit here all day and post... All your posts are a page long and too damn detailed for the average reader, ha ha... Very knowledgeable though. Its an alternator, just check the voltage-- that easy. And as far as the parts store testers... I don't disagree with the fact that some...

how do i test my alt?

Just ditch your old one and get a Mean Green... :) I know certain Grand Cherokee Alternators are a high amp upgrade with only minor mods to make it fit... Do a search, there should be plenty of threads on alternators.

how do i test my alt?

Easy and fairly accurate way is to take it to your local parts store (advance, or autozone) They will do it for free, just make sure you grab someone who knows what they are doing. If you want to do it yourself grab a volt meter or watch your voltage gauge if the vehicle is equipped. Watch the...

    Cold starts=Hard Starts

What are you refferring to freezing... no fluids should be freezing unless its your wiper fluid :)

    Cold starts=Hard Starts

Thinner in winter...easier to pump through motor on cold starts. Summer dosent really make as big of a difference. I just stick with 10w30 unless the motor leaks or is noisy, then I might step up to 10w40 or add a quart of lucas goo.

    having a clunking noise!! hlp

Order a new hiem joint, you can get them at most offroad shops... They are all over the web. Just find out what size, thread size, whether it is LH or RH thread etc. You should be able to find one.... You could always call up skyjacker and get them to send you one of theirs for some $$$.

    muffler question?

Prob wouldn't affect the sound/performance notably... I would send it back and get the right one you ordered though. Let them deal with their f*** up not you.

    Cold starts=Hard Starts

Would'nt worry bout it... thats just how a 4.0 acts in cold weather, the oil shouldn't have anything to do with it... how many miles are on the ticker?
