Improving ride on a DPG OME lift

What is current status? I dont think throwing more parts at it is necessary. What you boyght is solid-quality stuff. My 97 rides and handles great on/off road, and I dont consider a jeep that rides like farm equipent acceptable. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Improving ride on a DPG OME lift

My 97 with DPG kit has the OME med springs front and rear with their sport shocks. Goodyear wrangler adventure 31s at 28 lbs. It rides firm but not harsh at all with no added weight on the vehicle. Shackles are stock. Is thrre binding somewhere? Has everything been loosened and re torqued...

    Need some flare advice

My 97 has a 3.5 inch suspension with lift lower arms and 2 inches of bump stop extension front and rear. It handles 31 inch Good Year tires on stock wheels completely stuffed-disconnected without rubbing. No trimming has been done. Before putting on the JCR front bumper, the front tires...

    help when for lifting

As the members input shows, there are many approaches and options for you. Different Cherokee models/years/options have some effect. Your personal preferences and tolerances will also be your guide. 1. Choose and install a suspension system 2. Choose and install your tire and possibly wheel...

    Shock recommendations for 1.5" lift

Old Man Emu Sport shocks come in two lengths and are valved for an XJ. Ride and handling is a great balance between performance and comfort.

More than flat leaf springs -thinking of replacing before Rubicon trip??

My medium rate OMEs are at just under 4 inches of lift after 4 years. They provide a good balance between unloaded ride and loaded handling-control. They may be on the firm side for max flex - especially when unloaded. Id buy them again.... dig the quality..

    New 1991 XJ Mild Build

My first XJ was a 90 2 door sport, similar to yours. With the factory track-lock rear diff, 31s on stock wheels and a 4 inch suspension it was very capable. The only mods were suspension and armor - no driveline mods at all. rock sliders are a great upgrade a basic lift with 3.5 to 4 inch...

    '99XJ - Passenger Side Clunking

Yes, on my 97 with a very similar set up... Did a very slow brake depress release exercise with a hand on the LCA to confirm it. Replaced them with Metal Cloak and the noise was gone. The two arm sections were moving slightly at the threads. Sold the old arms on craigslist fast...

    head light upgrade?

Correction… My bulbs are actually the discontinued OSRAM Rallye 70/65, were installed 3.5 years ago, and still work perfectly. January 7 2019 update: VOSLA H4 +100 "SuperBrite" The Osram 70/65w Hyper H4 bulb was a popular favorite because it gave a big headlamp performance boost while...

    head light upgrade?

1, Harness 2. Lamp and Bulbs This Headlight Services harness is XJ specific, high quality, and installs easily (a hour or so) with a factory like finish. http://www.headlightservices.com/CherokeeHarness.html I also installed Hella E-Code lamps and some 55-100 Osram bulbs. My experience with...

    Best way to spend $1500?

Agree, that is what drove my initial priorities.. The front tires contact the bumper and this XJ does not flex as well as the 2 previous and similarly set up XJs i've owned. I think the flex limitations may be the Old Man EMU springs. That is what drove me to a considering a 3 link and ditching...

    Best way to spend $1500?

Thanks! Based on your inputs, I've dropped the priority of long arm for now and will do a SYE and driveshaft on my 242 case and the JCR crusader bumper for protection, clearance and recovery. When I bump up to 32s, will review diff gearing, replacing the trac-lok ect...
