    Pitman arm puller-is it required?

Total Pima. Broke one bolt holding on the steering box, spent an hour removing one power steering line. (18 mm flare nut wrench is not all that common @ automotive supply). Also, metric on the gear box end and standard on the pump end? WTF?! And of course I broke the alloy pitman arm puller-...

    Pitman arm puller-is it required?

Sounds good. Tighten, tap repeat. Use impact if i get lazy. (when) Not worried about the power steering box, it is done. It's been loose and leaking for two years, so maybe the pitman arm will be lubed enough to pop off. I will cut it only if absolutely required.!

    Pitman arm puller-is it required?

I have never pulled a pitman arm. I am going to pull it off my 1990 Cherokee, and I am hoping someone can tell me if a standard gear puller or steering wheel lock plate puller will work for the pitman?

    Broken aw4 linkage cable

Thanks V. Someone in the Xj's past ran some wires there. Now the seat swap project grows...:hang: (hang me)

    Broken aw4 linkage cable

Bump, any help at all is appreciated. I think I need to drill or find out where everyone else routed the linkage from the shifter to the tranny. All the references so far just say " route the cable to the tranny"

Failing to notify customers of shipping delays is not acceptable.

I don't care how long it takes to get the parts I want to bolt on if they arrive the day they were promised. I will never twice use a company that tells says my part is a week away from shipping after sending it to be powder coated and then still not seeing it for months. Seriously vendors, is...

Installing JK shocks on an XJ (write up)

I have the shocks and coils from a 2010 Rubicon sitting on the floor of the shop that installed my Rock Krawler 2.5. If anyone in the lower mainland wants them, PM me. Free for Naxja members. Or anyone who wants to wheel, really.

    Broken aw4 linkage cable

Thanks Joe, I have a couple photos to help me explain. (sorry for the one handed camera phone pics.) The first is the linkage connection at the shifter to let everyone know which cable it is. The one I am trying to replace is the drivers side on the left of the photo. The second shows where...

    Broken aw4 linkage cable

I have searched for this to no avail. 1990 limited aw4, the shifter end bushing exploded. I finally stopped using electrical tie wrap to hold it on the pawl/pin. Picked up replacement cable from wreckers. My problem is the cablet is a couple feet short, it's new years eve and nothing open that...

    TSA idiocy

But that is the way the business model works. Prove to the client that your company can provide a cost plus contract for less dollars an hour and you are in. The manager who awards your contract gets a bonus based on how much was saved, so he won't care about quality. The contractor now has an...

    The Vise Thread

I am pretty sure mine was blue when my dad bought it at a garage sale in about 1975. I don't know who made it but it still works well.

crisis of faith...is this '95 about to nickel & dime me?

I choose to keep my xj in spite of the repair/parts costs. If yours has been maintained, you might regret getting rid of it. Xj's problems are not that hard to fix, and look at how many members this site has. Cherokees are incredible vehicles. On the down side, all vehicles require...

You can buy one of these condos at Wal-mart, with a very attractive low initial interest rate.
