Did you run the bracing to the back mount points (where the OEM tow bar brackets bolt in)?
Here's a pic of my bumper I built after I rolled my rig. Note the bracing plate going along the side and bolting through the uni-frame just aft of where the sway bar is attached.
The bumper has changed...
Two wires? My Sanden clutch only had one wire. In the middle, however, between the connection to the wiring harness a ground wire went from the Sanden housing to the 'hot' wire to the clutch. This wire from the housing has a resistor on it before it is spliced into the 'hot' wire. Thus it is a...
You're speaking of the tera flex D30 high steer knuckle, right?

I'm not seeing the prices, or I'm just missing it.
I have 6" of lift with the stock steering. It's at the maximum (if not beyond) when it comes to angles. I'm getting a bit of bump stear, and it is overall a handful on the road.
So - I was looking into a replacement steering system. I've seen a kit for $700 that places 'adapters' on the D30...
Yeah - I've driven it several hundred miles on road, and 10s of miles on trail. The brakes work REALLY good (compared to stock - and compared to drums even with the 97 booster/master cylinder swap).
yellowxj: I'll do some digging around, but I haven't found a write up just yet for what you are...
I've installed a ford 8.8 with disc brakes in my 92 XJ. REALLY nice axle and pretty easy swap (not as easy as an XJ D44 swap - but both would have to have degree shims, or in my case cut and weld on new pads for the 6" lift and SYE/CV driveshaft angles).
Anyhow, my question is on the...
Bummer. That's a wierd statement though
"The doors shall open and close securely unless the vehicle has been manufactured or modified to the extent that there is no roof or side"
So..... could we just chop the roof off and then go doorless? ;)
Or.... you could say you bought it with the tube...
That's what I believe as well. Most states require two rear view mirrors. So one can get away with a window mounted mirror, and a driver's side mirror. I have yet to hear of laws pertaining to running without stock doors (especially since CJs, TJs and YJs and some older Ford Broncos have...
I really don't know about the legal side of this. I DO know that it is legal to drive around with the doors completely removed off a CJ, YJ or TJ - so why not XJs as well? I know in CO, no-one that I know that has an XJ with the doors off has complained about being pulled over and ticketed for...
It's a latch off a stock XJ door (junk yard pull). Some slight modifications are made to it as there are a butt load of levers on it that aren't needed in this application. Then, the lever that releases the latch is modified slightly to give ease of moving it. All it takes is one finger to push...
