    Rusty's 8 inch

I like the way you think! This is what I'd like to copy for mine: http://www.jpmagazine.com/featuredvehicles/154_1001_1986_jeep_cherokee_xj/index.html

Sounds more like you need to re-gear for better performance.

    Rusty's 8 inch

I agree with everyone else here that 8" is too high. That's why I wouldn't do it again, it feels unstable on the trail. Rusty's is no less expensive than other kits when you factor in all the extras needed to complete the lift. Just plan on spending some coin regardless of which lift you choose...

    Rusty's 8 inch

Standard. The ride is... well, not as as nice as my Lexus, but no worse than other Jeeps. At first I used rubber bushings in the control arms and they didn't last. I replaced all bushings with poly and they've held up so far. The front has a bit of bounce to it while the rear is really soft. I...

    Rusty's 8 inch

I've been running that lift for three years now with a large bumper and 10k lb winch with no noticeable sagging:

Alignment issue or tire pressure too low?

Here's a pic I have of the steering system. This is the kit I installed: http://www.rocky-road.com/xjott.html I've had it in there for over a year now and haven't had any issues with it, at least no failure of any kind. Not sure if it may have anything to do with the toe problem...

Alignment issue or tire pressure too low?

I agree, what's weird is that only the front of the tire measures 3/4" wider after driving forward, but the rear of the tires is the same measurement. It visually looks as if the tire is 'flexing' cause the rim angle never changes. I aired them up to 32lbs to see if that changed anything, it...

Alignment issue or tire pressure too low?

Just the opposite, the front of the tire toes out with a load, but the rear of the tire measures constant. I'll try toeing them in at 1/8" and go from there as RE suggested, thanks!

Alignment issue or tire pressure too low?

I'm running 35"x13.5"x15" Toyo M/T's on 10" wide rims. '92 XJ w/ 8.5" Long Arm and High Steer conversion brackets on a High pinion D30. When I drive foward, it appears that the tires are toed out and want to 'wonder' going down the road. I raised the front up and inspected all ball joints, tie...

    Rocky Road OTT steering kit

I'm using it on my '92 XJ. So far so good. I haven't experience any of the problems mentioned on this thread. Guess I'm lucky. I will agree that it's much more of a pain to align this system vs stock steering. But it does the job I needed it for. I have almost 9" of lift and 35" tires. I was...

    Brake Problems Help?

Can the master cylinder be rebuilt or does it need to be replaced?

    Master cylinder w/ABS

I don't believe so. The ABS compressor and equipment are fed from the proportion valve after the master cylinder. Just be sure to bench bleed the new master cylinder before installing back onto the booster. If you do have problems w/ the ABS, I've got the entire unit if you need. I swapped in...

Why is my gas mileage so bad

I've noticed a drop in fuel mileage in all three of my vehicles, '07 Buick Terraza, '06 Chevy Van1500, and '92 XJ Here in Florida it's been attributed to E-10 being added at the pump: http://www.floridajeepers.net/viewtopic.php?t=50961&highlight=ethanol If you read through the entire...
