Big front brakes. What's best, and where can I buy it?

THANKS!!! That is exactly what I was hoping for... a bit ignorant of me, I ve seen go-jeep's thread, but none of the links there were working, and I thought this was something he had made up himself... but now that I see they are selling the kit complete.... :smootch: 325mm discs filling...

Big front brakes. What's best, and where can I buy it?

Thanks for the tips. And for the D35 stuff, I'm not a n00b. I've been bashing my (non-C-clip) 35 for three years, with locker and 31", never had a problem, except at 300.000 kms it now needs an overhaul. If a shaft should fail one day, I'll slip in a couple of Superior's or similar. I considered...

Big front brakes. What's best, and where can I buy it?

Hi. I am now ready to do a full 'extreme makeover' on my old '86 cherokee 2-door. Plans are, Hannemann fiberglass front fenders + rear sides, Teraflex long arms and Grand Up rear coil/3-link kit, overhauled axles (D30/35) with Auburn ECTED, new gears (probably 4,11), and 9 or 10x17 wheels with...

    Diesel + auto?

I guess many of you are right. 1. Too much work and 2. I'd have to circle the earth 3 times to save the costs in fuel economy. The question as to why I am pondering this is that the XJ I have is a fairly new, fairly well kept specimen, it's got a 2,1 TD with a bad crankshaft and I thought maybe...

    Drift jeep? (mj)

Drifting is GAY? Jesus Christ, what's wrong with you guys??? Is it because you don't have a clue how to handle a car? I am buiding a tube rockcrawler and that's gonna be cool, but when that's done I'm saving up for something serious sideways action. Drifting and rallying is the coolest things...

    Diesel + auto?

Takk! Great tips, I didn't think of the UK scrapper route.. tried Sweden + Denmark so far. You are mixing the engines up (or maybe I was unclear), I currently have a bad 2,1 TD, which is a Renault engine (used 1987-1994), it uses AX5. The 2,5 TD Vm engine came in 1995, and uses AX15s, but...

    Diesel + auto?

Hi, recently got a bargain on a 1994 XJ 2.1 TD (european model only? Engine supposedly made by Renault) with a broken engine (4th pushrod bearing dead, probably dead crankshaft too). Now I want to build the "ultimate" (for me) daily driver. I drive a long way to work, half of it is highway and...

    Fuel filling problems

Hi, I have a 86 XJ, and have some problems with filling fuel. (I tried searching, found a lot but nothing relevant, please point me in the right direction if this has been discussed before). When I start filling the gas gun clicks after just a few seconds, it believes the tank is full. Gas seem...

    DD Locker Comparison

Go for a no-slip rear. I've run it for 1,5 years now, no problems, and I am never i mean NEVER going back to an open diff, l/s or whatever... not even an ARB or similar. (But know that if you have a manual transmission it will behave a lot worse I believe, I have automatic) In the front...

    Tubing Bender

Use DOM tubing, but a piping bender is just a tubing bender with dies for piping... get the right die for your tubes/pipes, as long as the bender is strong enough to bend it that will work just fine. MIG is no worse than TIG, TIG is just harder, prettier, and can be used for more metals than...

How much lift do I need for 31's on stock rims?

I have been running 31" on stock rims for almost two years, with an old man emu saggy lift, about 2" I guess. No problems, except rubbing at the lower control arms at full turn, but that can be adjusted. Will also rub inner fender flares when offroading, but those have been removed :) I believe...

    Pep Boy's spokes vehicle on 33s :D

Back to topic, very nice Jeep, I have 33" txus MTs coming, with about an inch less lift than you, guess it will be exciting :repair: My rear trimming here: http://jeep.flipp.net/video/amund/divcherokee/Bilde%20735.jpg Seemed like a good idea at the time since the 31s flex inside, but now I...

Will I break my leaves if I do this ?

Thanks. The shackles are 8cm longer than the stock ones, i.e. something like 3 inches? which lifts 1,5". I really don't want to extend my bumpstops, i love the way they stuff... but I guess I don't have a choice, can't afford new leaves all the time :(
