    Any Android users out there?

OBD check, probably the best app I've seen. need a bluetooth dongle @ 50.00 or so, unfortunately I have OBD1 so I can't use it, but I hear great things if you have OBDII engine. Also Gmote, great app as well. Only had my phone for a week so not that experienced with the apps. Oh, ShopSavvy is...

The Official 97+ HO in a Renix Thread

I appreciate the info, it makes life a lot simpler to know I just have to swap it out instead of rigging intakes etc. thanks a million. p.s. when it happens, i'll post up any differences... (might be @ summer)..

The Official 97+ HO in a Renix Thread

actually the body was a 94, so then, from what you are saying it would be a straight swap, the only thing thats a 97 is the engine and I know that was a straight swap into the 94 minus electronics and some small changes to the belt routing, everything is 94 but the engine... still has obdI...

The Official 97+ HO in a Renix Thread

i've been reading posts on swapping out renix to ho engines. my ?? is more about an entire engine and accesory swap. perhaps I read it and it's so late my head is swimming, but I might have a 87 comanche available to me due to an accident with my 94 xj which has body damage. the xj has a 97...

    What's your current Engine Oil??

mobil one 10/30 full syn, changed every 5,000 or 6 mnths... whichever comes first.... either a k&n or mobil 1 oversized filter.... 94 i6 5spd 225,000m, 100,000 on 97 engine, no problems... btw, switched to syn with @ 60,000 on the 97 engine, (soon as it was installed, back in 02), never...

    Turn signal multi switch thing

got same issue with a 94xj... just wondering if the fix would be the same.... the only part that broke was a metal rod that twists in the column, it controls the wiper speed, the signals themselves still work but the shaft for the speed of the wipers snapped at the base (inside the steering...

    xj plus snow= no go?

i've been running cooper LT's... amazing in the wet stuff. i drive to mt. hood at least once a week. plenty of snow and packed ice on the roads around there. the cooper's are the best studless "m+s" tires i've used so far, my old bfg mt's were great in deep snow, if you go mud tire get them...

hot brakes, really hot on d side.

the bleeders were open when i retracted the calipers the first time, so i know that wasn't the issue. no abs. oh well, new calipers now so it really doesn't matter. damn strange to have both calipers go out at the same time though.

hot brakes, really hot on d side.

just replaced both calipers and pads... works like a charm. still didn't figure out why they locked up, but it was both sides, i had to pry both sides off with a crowbar, usually my 10" C-clamp does the trick... strange to seize both calipers at the same time, but much worse on the...

    Stupid stock radio speaker question.....

get some caps either 100 or 150 mhz probably 15- 20 bucks. that should reduce the draw that those speakers can't produce well anyway. if you want anything clear and low, get a separate amp and sub. btw - this is after, of course you already have, checked your battery for corrosion and made...

HELP! My stock XJ is only getting 7 MPG!

when my mileage suffered i had a leak in my vacuum caused at the tb not being tight enough on the block, bolts had turned out, replaced the burnt out gasket and recranked to spec, wallah, prob solved, could be a nice free fix for you. what's your idle sitting at, mine got up to 1200 at idle...

    Stupid stock radio speaker question.....

underpowered head unit. get those speaker baskets i was talking about, they usually go for 20.00 or so at most stores. the dimming is due to draw on the unit, it's not meant to power 120 watt speakers, for every time you double the sound level you increase the power @ 10x's. 10w is half the...

hot brakes, really hot on d side.

yeah, i leaning to that, but i just overhauled everything and there was no issue with it pulling to the left, just to the right when i touched the breaks at all, this was about one hour into driving, no pulling issues right now, i'm not going onto the freeway to recreate them, just seems weird...

    Stupid stock radio speaker question.....

head unit ampification is not known to be outstanding, chances are that the stock paper speakers, (that i assume you are using) do not have enough compression in the doors to keep them from fluttering and do what is called woofing, (the sound it makes), at the very least go to any car steroe...
