Well, it has come to a head. He either needs to find a carb, or is going to let the 84 go.
The carb got new gaskets last week. The problem he is having is a severe lean running issue. Any ideas what could be the problem? Adjusted the float multiple times, checked everything over many more...
I'm looking for a 1bbl carb for an 84 Cherokee, 2.5 four banger.
A buddy of mine will be moving out of town very soon and is in need of a carb. His crapped out. If anyone has an as-close-to-free-as-possible one operational, it would greatly be appreciated. He just needs to get the Jeep to its...
I had an 89 Caravan 2.5 TURBO with a 5 speed. It was the stripped down cargo model, no back side windows or rear seats. Insanely fast and got great mileage.

I...
I wondered about the GM 2.8/3.1/3.4 V-6 conversion and mentioned something about the bell housings being close if not the same. A 2.8 carbed would probably suit his purpose as he does not want to have to completely convert the whole electrical and harnesses over.
Thanks again for the replies...
A buddy of mine has recently acquired an 84 Cherokee with a 2.5, auto, not sure of the transfer case or axles, didn't really have time to look.
Real clean ride, he wants to know what would be involved to convert it to a I6. Not necessarily a 4.0, but possibly an older Jeep straight 6.
Any info...
