huh ok... well maybe its just better to keep looking for a cherokee hitch, im going to be stressing it really hard and i want to keep it a strong as possible.
I got a Grand Cherokee hitch for free and i was wondering if it will mount to my XJ. the sub frame width on the XJ is about 39" and the width of the hitch from the grand Cherokee is 38.5" the bolt holes look like they are in the right places, but i have not measured it.
Will i be able to...
no it is not a trailer, it carries the bike behind the jeep without touching the ground. i am going to get some airbags, and do much like what gojeep did. i am going to buy a trailer soon anyway because its summer and i am working again. the only reason i am able to ride that much for so...
i have looked into air bags. where can i find some for the Cherokee, i have looked at Firestone, and even airlift company and still no dice. they have some for the ZJ but that is about it. anyone out there with a product that works on here??
yeah i really dont want to do a lift, i want to keep my jeep stock, it wheels pretty good ( at least good enough for my wheeling ability) gets better MPG because i drive a high amount of miles often.
im not cheaping out on my jeep, i have a 1986 motorcycle, and am just now started to work for...
you wont need to run all that wire, the ground is live on the Cherokee, meaning that you can pretty much just attach the ground to any metal surface on the jeep as long as its a good connection. the fan really does need a relay, you probably could get away with no relay for the CB, i think...
good call that will save you alot of money and pain, i would recommend a wiring diagram too. this will help alot. you dont need a huge wire through the whole thing, but if you wire for example your CB, use the safety method with that. so that example of it drew 5 amps, you would only need the...
yeah that works. the 100 amp ones are ok, a bit excessive probably, but if they are somewhat water resistant that is really great. what is your max amp draw?
the switches should stay there i like them in that area, it never gets used anyway
when i install my lights i will be using the area right below the shifter handle on the T case, i figre rocker switches and my small hands will be perfect, plus the area is kinda protected from the t case...
I go dirt biking a lot ( about 2-3times a week) and i often need to drive an hour o r more to get to riding areas. here is the deal.. i have a tralier hitch mount motorcylce carrier, but when its on with the bike, it sags pretty good, more than i would like, the tongue weight is about 380 with...
well the relays keep the high amps out of the switches witch are probably only rated for 1 or 2 amps cont. at most. relays are rated at 30-50 amps mostly. (someone correct that if its wrong) and this will burn out the switches without relays. relays keep the high amps away from body parts ( it...
5-90 i love that web site. i have run into it a few times. i am home from school and often work in your area. i am an industrial air compressor service tech in south SF and spend much of my time in the south bay area.
sorry didn't mean to hijack.
oh for the calc's on the amperage draw, look on the specs of the equipment. then add that all together, and mulitiply by .30. take the number you got when you multiplied by .30 and add that to your original total. so for example if your max amp draw was 20 amps this is what it would look like...
