AGM Battery Replacement

Oh yes it is, I currently run 7 of them!

Those Duracell batteries at Sams go on sale a couple times a year -- I'm not even a member, I paid for 1 day membership so I could buy that AGM battery -- Don't remember the price but it was good enough to make me go out of my way and pay a membership fee

Isn't the Bosch the same thing? Made by East Penn? -- I'm pretty sure I looked hard at the pep boys offering -- The Sams club sale still won out though

The battery has been perfect -- I don't expect to need to use the warranty

I also have some Sears Die Hard Platinum AGM batteries -- the rebadged Odyssey -- those are some great batteries too, unfortunately they where discontinued by Sears a few years ago -- I have 7 in service and going strong at the moment

I'm going to call Sam's club and check on pricing. I'd prefer an East Penn battery (Duracell) over an Exide battery (Bosch Platinum) if the price is comparable. Thanks for the info!

Did you subtract the core charge?

The battery was listed for $199.00 plus tax and core on the site.

Minus $50 coupon. Plus tax.

I don't have a battery to give back so that number I put is the actual cost to me.

They don't ship to my state :(

I'm showing $187.61 in my checkout cart with the linked coupon code. Bosch platinum still cheaper by about $26.

I'm showing a total of $192 at checkout for the first battery you listed. That's about $30 more expensive and has the same specs as the Bosch.
Core charge and tax included in that $192 I can buy that Agm for $112.00 an tax It helps to Know people Lol

You don't have any battery at all? Wth is starting your Jeep? Too bad you're not closer to me. I have about 30 batteries sitting around. It doesn't have to be an AGM core...

Accidentally drained my battery completely by leaving a light on this weekend. I took the battery to Walmart for a warranty replacement last night but they didn't have my battery in stock so they gave me $132 store credit. I'll keep the store credit and buy the AGM battery elsewhere. Just dumb luck that I stumbled into the store credit.

Sam's club AGM was $190 after taxes and core charge which was more than the Bosch from Pep Boys.

I bought the Bosch Platinum, thanks for all your input. I'll update this thread over time so that it can be useful to others in the future.

I have two of the re-badged AGM Oreileys batteries. Very pleased with them. I think they are made by Johnson Controls I believe.

That would make them a rebadged Optima(Johnson Controls)!

I have had 3 Optima's take a crap within a few months of being out of warranty. Had an Exide die as well. So far good luck with the Duralast Gold that I picked up on my commercial account.

After two months, my Bosch Platinum died and wouldn't hold a charge.
Pep Boys replaced it, after 'testing' it, without a question.
Can't say I have a lot of trust in the replacement, a good reason to carry a lithium jumper battery.

Well where were you a couple of days ago?!? lol

All kidding aside, the deed is done. I'll hope for the best and update the thread moving forward.

I was under the understanding that Johnson Controls owns Optima and AGM's they make are not the same as the Optima. Isn't Optima a gel cel and not am AGM?
