Upper and lower control arms question

Status
Not open for further replies.
Following the links you posted its over 700 for upper and lower Currie set. A bit more than a 10 dollar difference

This.

I outfitted the entire truck for less than $600 (I think it was more like $550- I did the job in two flights- front end and arse end- at about $275 all up each time).

I have admittedly not checked the Currie costs, but nothing about Currie has ever been "affordable".

Well I am saying I sell them for $494... I didnt say Currie did, :)

Because you're looking at the price on Currie's site, and Not calling or asking a dealer, how much they sell them for. Or at least not the Right dealer...

This; so much THIS!

ETA: If there is an adjustable version of anything, save yourself money and grief by going the adjustable route in the first place.

Would love to know what you base this on. Why are longarms not safe for DD?

BTW- I've been DDing longarms for going on 13 years now..

Uhh, I think the fact that there connected to the unibody by four points instead of two. And there not do legal bro.
There a good choice for off road use though.
Peace out Doo!

I'd be less concerned with clunking and more with the welds holding together.

I have personally seen two of Rusty's longarm kits have catastrophic weld failures. One while in the "severe abusive service" of backing out of a driveway!

I really am amazed they haven't been sued yet.

You got video of that? Bwah.
The Rusty's arms I got are made out of 2" Dom w/ 1 1/4" "johnny joints". How the fuh' you gonna break that w/out ripping the bracket off the frame?
I think we can blame your catastrophic failure on improper installation.

All your previous post look great and you make some good point but them things look cheesy, sheez for that kinda money you could get some rough country, aka "Really Chinese".

What?? Not sure where you are from but where the op is they most certainly are and in the majority of states they are.

Material has absolutely nothing to do with craftsmanship.

Currie has been proven world wide in more conditions than any other aftermarket arm in existence.

You have never been accused of thinking before you speak or reading what you are commenting on have you?

Classic, I'm saving that.

Go back down in your parents basement.

Well that is a deal. Full set for the front end for $500? We may have to talk when the kid's Jeep needs front end work.

So it would seem. I've been out of the XJ mod scene for a while (having been focused on building my SAS S10 and doing the firearm and bike thing), seems the policies have changed in the last few years.

I don't know what language that is. I have to assume you mean "They're not legal" (uh, they are- ever see an old Bronco?)

Cite some laws, or you're just talking out your posterior.

How many points they attach to the unibody is of no consequence- as the points they connect are actually MUCH stronger than the OEM.

Also, I don't know what math you are doing, but my longarm XJ is actually connected to the unibody (structurally, ignoring shocks of course) by 3 points- the lower arms and the track bar)... all three of which are MASSIVELY upgraded over OEM.

"They're" a good choice for offroad use, yes... they also work perfectly well for onroad.

I think we can blame it on metallurgical failure of the weld- as examined by a professional welder.

I couldn't give two shits whether you believe me or not, kid.
