long story but it would be a big help if i could get some measurements at 3.5, 4.5, 5.5, 6.5in lifts... just from the bottom of the spring to the top of the spring at normal ride height sittin pretty level... V8 swaps thanks anyways! bumpers and winches would be even better... but not required... trying to figure out what size lift i gotta run for this new axle... you dont have to have them all of course... Thanks!

???? Measure your current springs,add for any sag,then add 3.5"-4.5"-5.5"-6.5" DONE !!!!

...........shackles lift less becasue leaves are on a pivot with the front bolt. Coils would be staright up and down so it would be like RCP Phx said. It DOES work that way

Thats like saying 2in lift shackles are two inches longer then stock... lol... don't work that way... thanks though...

Hmmmm, yeah it does!A 2" lift shackle will provide 2" of lift regardless of who you buy it from! Every XJ that has exactly 3" of actual lift will measure the same. The amount of weight(options) on your rig would determine the required spring rate to reach the desired lift!

I understand this... I didn't mean coils work the same way... I ment neither "formula" makes sense

I know 2in shackles provide 2 inches of lift... I didn't say they didn't... nor did I say anything about who makes them... I said if if a shackle is two inches longer then stock it does not make for two inches of lift on a vehicle... read above... he explained it...

A 8.5in coil spring is not 2in longer then a 6.5 coil spring... there built thicker and with a higher spring rate... probly even the same length with weight off wheels...but not with weight on wheels... I understand how all this works fine... apperently you may not understand what I'm doing... I can account for whatever added weight is on my Jeep... I just need these simple measurements...

Reread, they are not "simple" measurements! If the rig is lifted 3",then its lifted 3",but the way it got there will vary based on the weight of the rig!

Biggest things that will make a difference is v8 swaps.. which I mentioned in my first post... and winch or winch bumper which again I stated in my first post... I guess a full cage would make a difference as well but if someone has that I'm sure there smart enough to know it wont help much to me... this really is pretty simple and its leading into nowhere...

I just think you're explaining yourself poorly. You want measurements of coils, but then you understand that a 6.5" coil could be the same length as an 8.5" coil. You're talking about spring rates and such also which is what your focus should be on.

As you stated, the spring rate will ultimately have the desired lift height with the weight you're going to be runnig in your vehicle. Way too many variables that are trying to be addressed in one thread. If you narrow your questions down and be more specific in them, people on here will be much more likely to give you definitive answers.

All I need is what I said in my first post... I can figure the rest out myself... I just need from the top of the coil to the bottom of the coil with weight on wheels... and what "size lift" its said to have...3.5 4.5 5.5 6.5... measured with a steel bumper and winch would be better... but not required... because Ill be running one... no v8's cause I'm not doing a v8 swap... no pucks added in or anything like that... just front spring... that's all I need... nothing else... simple... ill account for everything else...

Edit: and spring brand would be nice so i can look up springs rates myself if need be

Here you go then,5.5" of lift-17.5" with a middle weight non-winch bumper.I'd tell you the spring manufacturer, but you don't need to know that!

I'm so confused. Do you mean you want measurements for lift springs without weight on them? Because when you say "at normal ride height sittin pretty level" that sounds like you mean you want the measurement with weight on them. Which would be stock height plus 5.5" for a 5.5" lift spring. That's what 5.5" lift means.

Normal ride height... like of your driving down the road... not jacks under the frame and suspension dropped... not jacks under the axles... normal ride height sitting on the ground... with the weight of the Jeep on them like I've said twice... weight on wheels... and its not stock height plus 5.5in lol... have u skipped everything else that's been posted other then my first question? Lol

So what do you think '5.5" lift coil' means?

what does a axle have anything to do with what size lift needed?

Well then unsubscribe and go away... case solved... its not this dang difficult... if u don't understand then oh well move on... none of the other forums are having issues with the same copy and paste question... I've gotten some answers already with no questions asked... if u dont understand then that's fine but quit talking trash... i don't have time for it...
