Garage get-together Saturday Dec. 5th

I think we need to start another thread....I'm trying to work a deal, and my better half is easily confused...."It says the 5th"....If we are also looking at a possible work day Dec 12th.....I'm game....and I may have worked the deal:wave: Not sure I wanna load that axle into the back of the XJ, but we'll see what we can do.

yeah, I am pretty sure there are two different conversations going on... Another thread seems appropriate.

What kind of greif will I get if I drive a car? Speed, comfort and gas mileage are weighing heavy here.

Ed, I would drive the car for sure...

~James

I looked ya up and you are on the East side of Atlanta. Mark has permission to go play so it looks like we will be there. I think we can get his parts in the trunk of the car so all looks good. We are on for Dec 5th.

So who else is in? What are we wrenching on?? Rovers??

Do we wear our working clothes?

There are 3-4 other guys coming from another forum (Expo), and yes we are just swapping a starter on a Disco II. Its not really a working weekend persey, just a BS session with a little food and beverage. If we decide that something needs to be worked on, I dont care... whatever works. I dont need to much of an excuse to hang out in the shop.

I think Andy may be coming down next weekend to do his rear fenders, but I havent heard for sure yet.

~ James

(PS, my wifes Jeep needs a CPS swapped out, and a new thermostat housing... I may jump on that. Just depends on how the beer is flowing. If its flowing, I wont be working on anything....)

Cool, let us know if we need to bring anything.

I think I'm a go for the 12th....gotta find a way to get that axle over with me...and yeh, get all that beer stuff out of your system on the 5th....How long you think we'll need to seal up those rear fenders? I'm not needing show quality...just sealed up.:sunshine:

sweet, ill bring some sawzall blades and we can cut off my rear rock magnets (quarters). James, do you have a sawzall? I can bring mine, I have not had a chance to use it yet (I just got it, i promise)...

Doh  I missed this thread.... Here I was looking for a meet and greet and here it is... I'll be there minus XJ, I'll bring the fast jeep  maybe I can get the wife to make her chill or Chili con queso dip anybody down for that?

I'm in Dec 12th....love some good chilli....and a fast jeep. And I'm not seeing any SRT8 or E55 pics with your Dodge and Neon pics.... Did I miss them?

I'll be there the 5th need to check with the wife for the 12th make sure there is nothing going on then.

Yeah I know... I'll work on the E55 pics today... I don't often get to take pics of the SRT8 (read none at all) If the dang weather lets up I'll get pics of it. That site is my 4th attempt to get pics up of my stuff

Not entirely sure, I will know more once I see what we are working with. Should be a few hours, but we can get it done for sure. Just have to get you here early as possible on the 12th.

Chet, I have a sawzall, but it would go MUCH better with a cutoff wheel. A sawzall will make minced meat out of thin sheet metal because of the reciprocating action. The cutoff wheel will just slice right through it with no distortion or paint damage. Either way, we can do it.

Somebody say chili con queso? Thats sounds scrumptious!

Mmmm... go fast stuff is cool.

I'm good for the 12th as well! For the 5th chili con queso it is.

Grrr can't find the 20 some odd shots we took of the E55 when we picked it up... I hope I have better luck fixing my pressure washer today :banghead:

Hey James, if I were to bring my '99 DD down, what are the chances of putting on a set of BrianHo's frame stiffy's, rear shackle relocation brackets, and a set of JCR stage 2 rock rails? Just so you know, I can't weld. :D Might be a good time to "test" the new welding cart. Just a thought. I've got plenty of projects if we want a work day of course they would all be on my Jeep.:wave1:

Either way, I'm looking forward to coming down and hanging out.

Max, I can bring the shirt and hoodie with me if that's ok with you.

How early is too early. I was thinking of leaving here at 6am...that puts me there round 8:30, 2.5 hr drive from here. I've got a cut off wheel with some new wheels for a compressor...I'm assuming you've got a compressor in that Man Cave Garage of yours? and a few other air tools, let me know what you need me to bring.:viking:

What time do we need to plan on the BS session to start?

Sweet, the 12th will be a work day, so dress accordingly. I have a party to attend that night, all are welcome to go, but I have to be inside from the shop by 6pm... wife says so. :lecture:

Mark, I have had a set of HD stiffeners for my jeep for about a year now, and they are still on the shelf. I was waiting until my 2 post lift gets installed before I tackled them since it would be SOOO much easier. I dont mind welding it all on, thats no problem. However, I think we would need to plan an entire day for just your rig. If you got a free weekend coming up, let me know and we will do another work day. Seriously.

Andy, 8:30 would be just fine for me. I dont use the air cutoff wheel too much, although I have them also. I usually use the 4 inch grinder for most of it. Much quicker, more power, and I dont have to listen to my compressor the whole time. You dont need to bring anything other than what you want to use for painting after its done, unless you want to do that at your place. I've got everything we need right here... :D

What time do we need to plan on the BS session to start?

Ed, et al, I have some family (wifes) coming over Saturday morning, so I wont be able to do anything too early. Like I mentioned in the original post, I plan to be out there from 1230 - 1pm until whenever. This is for the 5th (this weekend) get-together.

Sorry Stump...I should have reread the first post.

Guys, we are bringing the hooptie (car) and can fit 4 people. If anyone from the Nashville/Chattanooga area wants to ride along, just PM me and we can make arrangements to pick up/meet you. There is room for two more people besides Mark and myself. We can split the gas and it will be fun to bs before we bs.

Also, we will be happy to make a swag run for anyone needing hoodies, shirts, etc down in Atlanta area. Let us know.

This is gonna be fun! Mmmmmmm, queso sounds awesome too.

sweet. Im not in a huge hurry to do it, so if we don't get to the trimming thats cool w/ me. Ill bring some extra cutoff blades though.
