New Goodyear MT/R's in stock

And AS PROMISED, 35x12.5x15's are currently in stock and available!

Who wanted the 35's?

Witnessed these in the snow this past weekend and they work great! Excellent floatation and traction!

Trade you a brand new set of 35 inch KM2's and 50 bucks for a set? :D

Yeah they're unmounted. Still have the tags on them, but I think I'm just gonna run these. Are the MT/R's bigger than the KM2's? I heard they are a true 35 inches?

Initial impressions in the snow:

The TrXus is still the king of the hill. My ability to give them a full shake down was hampered by a lack of beadlocks and a broken axle shaft about a third into the first day, though I ran them down around 5 psi. The sidewall is pretty darn stiff; I think going lower on pressure would help them float better. They seemed to want to dig more, which they did VERY well. My plans to sipe them should help with this also.

Over all, I'd give them a 7.5 in the snow, with great wet pavement characteristics.

I'm interested in these new MTRs, but I'm curious if there is anything to what I've heard about these tires delaminating due to the different temperatures of the kevlar to the rubber?

Goodyear has been using Kevlar in it's desert racing tires for a little while now. Got a link or any more info on what you're hearing?

I'd be interested to know where you're hearing about that. I've been pretty happy with mine so far:

Actually, it was from an aquaintance that I don't know to be reliable or not. What he said now that I'm thinking about it was that he heard GY ran kevlar in some other tire and had delam issues with those tires. Like I said though, I'm not sure about his reliability.

I'll take your word for it as you are using them the way I hope to be. I'm checking locally tomorrow, but the tires at Discount are running about $37 more per tire than the KM2s in 35x12.50 15s.

Almost forgot, what psi are you running in that picture, and what psi do they tend to like on the street? Thanks.

I've been running them at 8-10 on the trail and they've been unbelievable. On the road (I'm in Moab as we speak and drove it from Seattle) they're very quiet and composed, do great on wet roads, etc. I run them a little under 30 psi on the freeway; I'm still experimenting with that.

IF you're going to be doing a lot of sharp rock crawling, I'd suggest the MT/R over the KM2...the sidewalls just seem to be a little more stout.

Are these directional?

it would be nice to only have to keep one spare.
