Re: Hillz and Hollerz trip

Well if they stay shut down I am def out for next weekend.

Re: Hillz and Hollerz trip

Well, they're talking about "good news" on the TORC board, but they're fuzzy on details, and don't expect official word for about a week.

If everyone is Haspin'ed out, would anybody want to check out 491 in Crittenden?

I've heard it's kind of small, and there's no lot for tow rigs, it's something new, and only about 30 miles from downtown cincy.

Just a thought...

Sounds good to me.... I gave them a call sunday mourning spoke with the owner (Nice Guy)

182 acres,23 miles of trails with a creek running thru the park. Some good steep hills to climb..

The park opens at 9:00am and closes at dark. Saturday crowd is 50-60 people.

The reason for no trailing in, All vehicles must be street legal, after issues with what is street legal . He made the no trailing in rule..

What Ya Think???

Re: Hillz and Hollerz trip

Yeah, sounds like could be fun, but if Hillz n Hollerz reopens I'd rather go there still.

Agreed.

If we do end up at 491, we may meet up with some guys from Twisted OffRoad. I don't want to merge into a group of 15 -- if there's that many total, I'll just say hey in the parking lot.

But if it ends up just you, me and Nick, and there's only 3-4 of them, I think it might work.

Also, the more I hear, the more it seems like tow rigs are not only inconvenient, but really unwelcome. I'd still like to unload at a local walmart or something, but I just might have to sack it up and drive it, like the real men!

See ya!

X3 I'am ready to go wheeling....

We meeting at the same rest area on I-75(Florence KY) ?

I put a engine rear main seal in a wrangler yesterday. I was telling him (Jeff) about the trip . So he may tag along with us..

Don't worry Robert we won't leave ya... Heck just the spare parts and tools You ,Matthew, and I carry we could just about build a rig. LOL

See Ya Saturday

Re: Hillz and Hollerz trip

I mean, if that's okay with you guys. I certainly didn't mean to dictate...

What ever we decide and who ever shows up is fine with me .. It's all good.. Anyone else thinking bout going??? Just chime in.

For what it's worth, it looks to be sloppy. Rain Wednesday, showers Thursday and Friday, and T-showers Saturday.

The good news is, if I have to drive it, that means I'll leave their mud down there, instead of in my driveway... :D

Robert

Well ya know how the weather goes. Maybe by the weekend it'll be snowing.

Re: Hillz and Hollerz trip

For what it's worth, for those that prefer to tow...

There's apparently not much in the way of tow rig parking at the Crittenden exit (x166), but there's a WalMart at DryRidge, one exit south (x159) and a Flying J at Walton, one exit north (x171)

From either lot, it will be about six miles back to Crittenden, then seven out to the park. You could take I-75 or US25.

So it's not really worth it to me, to tow it 30 miles then unload and drive it the last 13.

But if someone were coming farther, it might be.

Hey Nick this is Jerry, that 491 off road place is about 20 miles from me, if it don't rain too bad I may go, my hoopty don't like the mud..

I had no idea there was a park that close to me.. :)

Re: Hillz and Hollerz trip

Hey Jerry , How did the p/s pump pulley work?? Sounds good on joining us..

We are planning on going to Hillz N Hollerz if they reopen in time. 491 is the back up plan.

Hope the rain stops by friday

Re: Hillz and Hollerz trip

Hey Nick, still havn't messed with the pully, can do it at work, Just need to get off my lazy rump and get it done.

I hope it stops raining too, but I do like the free water..!! I have a cistern as no city stuff on my road..

If it rains as much as the news be saying I prolly won't be going, aint much fun getting stuck every few hundred feet.. :(

Later man..

Sounds like a plan, what time?

If you want to be there at 9 for the opening, I'd say 8:30 at the Florence/Union rest stop should be fine.

(And since we're all driving, we can agree to meet on the "car side." That way we won't have to go looking for Matthew! :D:D:D)

See ya

Robert

Re: Hillz and Hollerz trip

8:30am works for me on the car side.

Matthew my cell should work ,unlike Winterfest when I got your message on sunday when I was home.

Now for a little cooperation from mother nature....

Re: Hillz and Hollerz trip

I have to ask!

What are ya'll doin this weekend since HnH is closed. What is in Florence, Ky.

EDIT: Found it! I would love to make a trip out there also just not this weekend!
