Bad Brakes

Berrill

I have a 2001 jeep with the 4-litre petrol engine and ABS Brakes.

When I use the brakes for the first time in the mornings they are excellent, I.E they really bite and stop the vehicle with minimal pedal pressure.

However after using them once or twice the brakes require a lot of force on the brake peddle to stop the jeep. They just don’t seem to bite.

The rotors and pads are O.E.M. I have skimmed the rotors and replaced the front pads.

Does anyone know what is wrong and how can I get my brakes to continuously work as well as they do for the first and second stop?

Has anyone else had similar problems?

PS I am a slow driver, the pads and rotors are not overheating.

Thanks Antony

i would guess something with the abs pump or booster.
