Shackle Box Repair Question

ok... i found some interesting info on fixing this but have a question..

only one side is busted, the nut side ripped thru the box... it's been fixed but i'm wondering if its cool to go without also doing the same repair to the opposite side... seems if one side is beefed up that would make the other side extra weaker?

going to go check the repair now...
