just got the cps that the wires got pulled from during removeal of the old engine as i still did not hear a single pop as u well know without the cps i installed it and cranked it to check for spark and it started with a wire off so i was very excited to get the wire on and hear it run ............what a major dissapontment the engine sounds like it going to explod a very very big ass noise in the engine sounds deep like crank area anybody that was any input could u please let me know this has been a very trubled time seeing i lost the engine in my car while chaning the engine in the XJ very vey very dissaponted and no wheels to top it all off

First, why a non-HO in a HO jeep? Did you change all the electrical or intake stuff to the HO stuff?

How many miles does the motor have on it?
Was it a junk yard motor or did you get it from a buddy?
Did you hear it run before you bought it?

If it is not a "miss" then time to pull the pan and look around.
Or time to find a good HO motor?????

I agree. Check the flexplate and the torque converter bolts.
