For our March run, the NWC crew headed up to Kingsley Reservoir near, Hood River, to run some trails.

Heading out Highway 14 in the morning.

After crossing the Bridge of the Gods, I met up with the Nick and Scott in Cascade Locks.

The NWC is getting better with it's logistics as we all arrived at the Hood River exit nearly all at the same time. From there we convoyed up to Kingsley Reservoir.

Told some stories.

Did the morning chores.

All in all I believe we had nine rigs make it out, a really solid group.

Starting the 197, which is still a pretty fresh trail, but has some good obstacles throughout it.

Twisted.

PaddlerNate working it on one of the climbs. The morning rain provided some for slick conditions.

When in doubt...

We all made it up unassisted and continued on making great time.

At the next obstacle we had a tight squeeze, which flexed you out pretty good.

A few mirrors were sacrificed here.

Continuing on, we arrived at "The Ledge." Nick getting a feeling for the middle line. He gave it a hell of an effort, but couldn't get it to stick.

Somehow managed to get my jalopy up it. I was pretty pleased with how the Nail Salon was working.

Adam had his eyes on the bigger ledge to the right.
DSCN0954.jpg

Which eventually led to some pretty impressive carnage.

We were quick to set into a plan of action. While Adam began on a trail repair, Nathan and I rallied back to get Adam's truck and trailer.

Just as we got back to the group, they had gotten it mobile again. Pretty impressive repair/recovery for such a catastrophic break. NWC!

Loaded up, and heading out.

The rest of us continued on with the 197, which meandered through the trees.

Arrived at the first of the two rock gardens.

Continuing on we arrived at the last and much larger rock garden. Slow and steady, we all crawled through.

I think this picture puts the size of the field into perspective. It's a pretty awesome area.

After we all made it through we were back at the staging area to air up for the day. Heading back over the Bridge of the Gods.

Really fun run today with a great group! Definitely going to have to revisit the area again.
