Ive debated for months between 7/8 and 1.25 on lower longer arm links. I have 7/8 on my Cummins track bar and thought they were beefy enough. Boy was I wrong, till you have them side by side it's just hard to imagine.
1.25 is spendy but I think worth it they should hold up to direct hits anchored in 3/8 link tabs. I hope
