Ok so I just did my first ring and pinion swap from the 3.56 to some Yukon 4.46 in my Chrysler 8.25 on my 98 Cherokee. I got a good paturn as well as I could tell, it was center on both coast and run, set it to 6 thousands backlash. All seems good, great power for my 33s. But I noticed that after 45 mph there's a small hum, if the radio is on I can't hear it. It only happens when I accelerate and only around 45 (haven't gone any faster due to brake in). When I let off the gas it goes away. I replaced all the bearing with the master rebuild kit and got 15 inch pounds of preload on the pinion. Anyone know is this is normal?
