Transfer case indicator light incorrect

Possibly in the wrong section on this forum, couldn't find anything by searching about this either. I recently did a complete drivetrain swap into a new xj body (old one passed away from the cancerous rust) and the new xj was 2wd but now after the swap and even after swapping clusters the full time light is on even when I'm in 2wd I have made sure it is in 2. Np242 transfer case

The 1997-2001 wire harness if different for the 231 vs the 242. Search some older 242 swap threads, I am pretty sure there is a solution posted. Or use the Google.

Jeep made a wire harness adapter for the 242, if you are lucky, you can find one in the junkyard.
