Survey Says .... (aa sye install)

I think I'm on the verge of installing the AA sye that's been staring at me in my shed for 2 years.
So the survey question for those who have done it without removing the case from the vehicle, would you ever do it that way again or was the cuss factor too high to recommend it.

I only ask because I have no reason to touch any part of the interface between it and the trans and the fact that I am much more of an old lazy ass than I want to admit. (think I just did)

If you're only replacing the mainshaft, then its less work to do it with the tcase installed. Usually need to replace the front output bearing, sometimes the chain. I usually pull them and give it a workover just because.
