Uhwarrie OHV Jamboree Spring 2013

Ok guys, time to start thinking about the 3rd URE OHV Jamboree. The SEC will host another club booth to showcase who we are and what contributions we make to the offroad community. Ask anyone who came out last time, there was good people, good food, good music, good sights and finally wheeling. They will be bringing back the 4x4 games and RTI challenge, as well as the helicopter rides.

Please consider volunteering. We need to man our booth as well as whatever task is assigned to us as a club. It could be traffic/parking, set-up/takedown, etc. It would be a big help for people to spend some time or commit to running the booth as Tim and I will probably be helping in some other aspects of the Jamboree as well.

Our last two events have had similar timelines. We set-up in the morning, spend most of the day and lunch at the Jamboree, usually break-down around 4 when everything is winding down, gather up the group and hit the trails, usually ending up as a night run. Camp at Arrowhead, get up and wheel in the morning, and most of our group heads out around noon.

You have good timing with this post, I just updated the website last night with the club application form in both .doc and .pdf formats. I will add the SEC logo to the clubs page during the next update. I am almost tossing around the idea of a non-flash based page so those using mobile devices can see the webpage. But that is a huge undertaking for later in the year or next year if I go that route.

Wow...can't believe we're coming up on the 3rd Jamboree already. Seems like just yesterday it was the 1st!

I can't emphasize this part enough. Nick and I, with help from Glenn as well, have been able to handle the NAXJA booth, plus the tasks assigned to us through out the day in the past. However, this time around I see the two of us helping in many more areas than we have before, given NAXJA's involvement in the efforts at Uwahrrie. Seeing as how it's about 3.5 months out, there's plenty of time to consider volunteering. Of course, we will keep this thread updated as we go along if/when/should any changes occur.

I really hope that BBQ place sets up again like they did in the fall. That was some great food! For $10 (if it was even that much), I bet that plate weight every bit of 5lbs!

I'll try to make it out there this time. Unfortunately I was unable to make it to the fall jamboree. I already marked my calender for the march date.

April will be about to pop in March but we'll see what I can do. I'd like to come help this time around. Last time I wheeled while ya'll did all the work.

;)

Plan on being there but that is a long time off.

yeah, If I go i'll most likely be in the baby Jeep. Since we won't be doing much wheeling anyways and the pregnant wife won't be able to take a beating by then.

Done... left a redirrect. We need this to be in the SEC forum too.... I think that will do it.

hopefully everyone gets the memo that this is the new home for all things landuse involving uwharrie after a month or two, but probably a good idea to leave a redirect.

I should be able to come out, I see no reason why not as of now. I can also help if y'all need me, I'll probably camp out overnight anyway

Looks like I won't make this one.

Just figured out I have to fly to Texas 2 days after I'd be getting back from the Jamboree and don't have the cash or energy to make two trips so close together. :(

Best case scenario I drive up early Saturday morning, hang out for a while and drive home that night but I doubt it. We'll have to see.

Bringing this back up.

I'm probably in. Bringing the boys with me. I'd like to get some trail riding in with them. I can pick them up after school and be up there at 7ish on Friday night.
What's there to do on saturday?

Edit: I read my calendar wrong. I have friday off, so I'll probably pick the boys up and be up there on thursday night.

Saturday it's a do-what-you-want day. The trails will probably be slammed full if the weather is nice. There will be plenty of vendors and 4x4 clubs set up to walk around for a little bit back across from the outpost. If the weather and trails are kind of crummy, then there will probably be more activity around the outpost.

They were even doing helicopter rides over the area in the Fall (not sure how much it cost though).

Most importantly, Nick and I will be there...and on the top of your list of things to do should be to come by the NAXJA table :D

Plan on it. Hopefully it's not pouring rain like last year.

I figure the trails will be pretty clear on friday.

I hope it's not raining either. You didn't come to the fall one did you? Weather was absolutely perfect. And considering how many people were on the trails in the good weather, there was an excellent turn out at the booths too.

Friday should be relatively calm as most people will be working still.

It looks like I will be heading down sometime that Friday, seeing as I have that day off from class. Our "one day spring break". Very much looking forward to it.

That is Easter weekend and the boys will be on break. I'll come up Saturday and return Saturday night I do believe. If you want to break in those new tires I'll be glad to escort you up Daniel when you are done!
