Providence Canyon 12-1-12

Jeff, Jeremy and I had a great time today along with a couple of members from RME. Trail started off pretty slick. I had an ARB line get too close to the pre-cats on my motor and it melted a hole in the line causing me to lose air and had Jeff not carried a small piece of tubing I doubt I would have made it all the way.

A few photos.

Waiting at the bottom of the canyon for Jeff to help a guy from RME try to get up in a TJ that was open at both ends. He ended up going home.

While we were waiting, a group from Mt Logan asked if they could pass us. It wasn't long before we caught up to them so they could fix this issue.

He tried but eventually took a winch.

Jeff tried and almost ended up in the same way...till he realized he never engaged his lockers. Video of this is uploading now :D

It wasn't long before our group of six turned into a group of three. This lone guy from RME had trouble on the same hill and for speed sake decided to just winch the last ten feet.

The higher we went, the deeper the snow got. Usually Utah has the very worst kind of snow to wheel in when it's deep but not today. I really wished there was more at the top. Following Jeff there was a few places where he was busting through two foot drifts and we could have easilly handled another foot or so.

Stopped at the warming hut. Someone was nice enough to have left a fire going in the stove. It was nice and toasty inside. The perfect lunch spot.

After lunch we took a break to send some rotten pumpkins to their grave. This is Jeff's son taking a few shots through my AR-10.

Inspecting some of the aftermath.

After that we headed back down the canyon. Stopped at the water fall and headed home. All in all a pretty fun day on the trail.

Nice looks like fun, wish I could have made it!

That looked like a great day! I wished I was able to have tagged along. I don't think I would have made it very far without lockers though.

I did spend the day putting my TC back together. Now I just need to button up a few minor things with the long arm install and the XJ will be back on the road.
