I have an np241 nv241 np241or or whatever else you want to call it. This is the strongest factory 4:1 ratio transfer case available. It came stock in the newer Rubicons. Its it a bolt in for the later (23 spline) cherokees (although you'd have to fiddle with some wiring to make the 4wd light and speedo work).
I have the matching custom rear driveline from JE Reel. 1/4" wall super heavy duty the right length for XJ.
Driveshaft and transfer case have about 3k miles on them in my jeep.
Transfercase had around 70k miles on it when I got it. Works flawlessly, no noises, etc. I swapped my 242 back in because I'm returning the jeep to almost daily use and wanted the awd feature.
$1200 for tcase and shaft.
