Little clunking while turning at full lock..

Tire rubbing something? New wheels may have different back-spacing...new tires may be wider/taller. Look for rubbing on the lower control arms.

If it goes clunk, clunk, clunk while actually moving in a full lock turn and the tires aren't hitting the control arms, you most likely have a bad front axle shaft u-joint. You can normally feel it in the steering wheel and it will happen twice per tire revolution.

I have seen a pop rather than a clunk due to a rear locker as well.

Get underneath and look at the u-joints first. They're open. Wiggle them. There should be no play. Jack up one side at a time, just off the ground. Turn steering to full lock and rotate a wheel. If a joint is getting stiff you will feel it as you rotate the wheel. A good joint will give little or no variation and no noise, a bad one will bind or clunk.
