How hard and how much would it cost to put a new differential and gears in the front of an XJ. I'm not sure what gears it has because it is not mine. Also would gears from a grand cherokee swap around. They are both 1994's and D30 i believe.

if you have to ask questions about gearing, than in most cases you should not install them yourself.

Look in the FAQ sections... A new differential would require a new axle if its a whole dana 30, from a xj, tj, zj it will swap directly in. Otherwise fab work is required.

gearing for the beginner is tough. Can be done if you the do it all type. Somebody had to learn the hard way. I just dont like learning that way because it cost me $
