Melling High flow oil pump problems?

I've recently installed a Melling high flow oil pump on my truck, and broke the tab off of two distributers, i think because of the oil pump. The first distributor I thought was from over tightening, the second one i know wasn't over tightened. It seems like the shaft that drives the oil pump might be sitting a little higher, making it so that when I go to tighten the distributor mounting bolt, it might be bending and breaking. Any ideas as to what might be up?

My fault, just realized my mistake as this is the first time i've done this. I forgot to reinstall the distributor hold down bracket :doh: good thing it only cost me two perfectly good ditributors.
