Already posted a few threads on this 2nd xj in our house.

Best to keep the posts for the #2 xj in this one thread from now on.

It rained and micro hailed on us yesterday, but this old girl is now degreased from the previous owner's sloppiness. I can handle a dirty jeep all day. But not grease everywhere.

Once the first xj is running again, there will be room in the shop for this one. It shakes the entire vehicle violently like I've never seen in my life.

I’d bet they drilled the hole and rigged the clutch pedal because the clutch froze up. Probably drilled the hole and removed the dust plate to try to force something to move. Kept rigging to get the master to put enough force through to the slave, or broke the oem replacing it with whatever fit.
Hell the bad vibrations could be down to the clutch.

That metal clutch line I don’t remember it having a coupler on mine (85 2.8 5 speed) but it’s been some time since I looked at it.
What it does have is a rubber section like a brake line in the middle of the clutch line, located about the center of the body behind the motor were its routed around to the passenger side slave cylinder.

Found a dash gauge cluster that has a factory tach ! It will go in once the 4.0 beater project is out of the garage.

I hate videos, LOL, I can read 100 times faster, and at my age I have no time to spend my remaining life listening to hours of dribble  on videos. Please type what you found, LOL, for this old codger LOL

:soapbox:

Nicely done!!

I, for one, enjoy the videos.

I like how to do this videos when tackling some thing I have never done or seen.

I personally owe many Youtubers a huge thanks for keeping me out of trouble when it comes to any task I need help with. Youtube is such an incredible resource for everyone and their projects.
