Space and weight savings

I just bought a folding tree saw at Lowes and I will remove the hatchet and old tree saw from the Jeep. What items do you bring that serve multi purpose? I'm taking everthing out of the Jeep and want to load only absolutly essential gear like spares, tools, recovery gear, first aid. Anybody ever seen a list of neccesarry sizes of sockets and wrenches so I can leave the sizes I won't use at home? Seen any gadjets that are light and small that save space and weight in the jeep? I keep oil,ATF,break fluid, spare sepintine belt under the hood and high lift and spare driveshaft under and next to the passenger seat. Got any good ideas for space and weight savings or ways to pack it all in there?

Tooling all depends on your Jeep and your comfort level for freak occurances. I carry different tools for different outings.

Say, for exampe, I'm doing a harder trail where I want to save as much weight as possible... I ONLY carry the tools to change shafts and steering!

Just sit down in front of the Jeep and think of what all you will likely need to get most jobs done. There's really no reason to bring the engine hoist and ball joint set, dig? Just remember to bring the 36mm socket (axle nut), 13mm twelve point (unit bearing), and 17mm (TRE).

I use the Ford wrench on mine and it lives under the back seat. Do you think I should ditch the factory jack and lug wrench or have you seen them used for field repairs?

Here is my checklist of everything I carry when on the trail, I'm still adding to it. It all fits with some careful packing in the rear and in the rear seat floor board.
I don't carry a "folding saw", I'm lazy, I use a small chainsaw when I'm not in the NF.
