O-ring Question on AC evaporator-to-Expansion Valve, 88XJ

I found no o-rings on my evaporator-to-expansion valve connections. Could not find any info on this. Is this a metal-to-metal seal or an o-ring seal?

the flare on the evaporator does the sealing to the expansion valve, no o-ring
