Yeah its false, on fuel injected Jeeps, the computer needs to know the correct ratio of air and fuel to make maximum power, by adding the resistor the computer thinks that it is cold out, and compensates for what should be a colder, denser amount of air, but if you don't have this extra amount of cool, denser air, then you will just be dumping fuel into your engine, making it run richer and less efficient, and could cause it to lose power.
