NSS Question?

Ok i think i have the classic symptoms of a dirty NSS: won't start in park and my back up lights don't come on. but should i still be allowed to start my jeep in neutral? I can't start my jeep in neutral or in park, so now if it does its non starting thing i have to basically hot wire it to start. Could this be the sign of any other problem? Thanks for the help.

You are probably on the right track with the NSS. Before I rebuilt mine it displayed the same symptoms. Sometimes I could drop it into neutral and it would start right away and other times I had to fight with it a bit more but once I cleaned the switch all functionality was restored.

I cleaned mine this weekend. Took about an hour. Now I've got backup lights!!

Does it start in park again or were you only able to coax the reverse lights on?
