Welding Wire Choice - Ford 8.8 Axle Tubes

I've been doing lots of research, and there sure are a lot of opinions out there. I'm a welding newbie. I've done a bit, and know enough to be dangerous. I've got a Lincoln Electric MigPak 180 (240V) welder. Let's assume I'm going to get my hands on an oxy-acetylene torch for preheating. Any recommendations on wire type and size to use? I'd rather use flux core wire. Thanks in advance. I promise I'll post my success (or failure)!

It's going to be hard to find a good flux-core wire, I would recommend 308L.

BTW: that's with 75/25 gas.

If you have a DC stick welder 7018 is a good economical option.
