And I'm assuming low range right....? Bahahaha

Sorry for the derailment, but what shocks do you run on the rear of your cummins?
My duramax is empty 80% of the time and it's time for shocks.... my thought is spend the money up front and the hell with the rear... it's a log wagon empty no matter what....
I guess what I'm asking is have you seen improvement with decent rear socks? (Assuming you've tried different things)

Running 5100s on the front and kyb monomax on the rear.

My cummins was originally a 1ton i put a single bed on. With no load it rides like crap. With a trailer or my welder in the bed it actually rides pretty good.

Id probly run the monomax all the way around on a duramax though not sure it rides very good empty either.

Actually it probably does ride noticeably better than my cummins.

I haven't tried a ton of shocks on my pickup. Ive been running the monomax for a few years they are valved heaver and seem to help the log wagon bounce.

I used to tow alot and would blow shocks out ounce a year or so and replace under warranty from local less swab tire shop.
With those i honestly couldn't tell the difference between blown leaking oil and new ones.

The front rides decent. I was thinking of doing 5100s up there. I actually kinda like the ifs..... the rear rides fine with about 500 pounds in it... I've even reduced pressure in the rear duals to like 25lbs and it doesn't make much difference lol

With enough rust bolts are no longer needed

Judging by the pics the day must have been HUUUUGE.

Been busy working and hunting, dont really need a trail jeep to run to hunting camp

Pics from the last few days
This is my photography thread now.

Camp is in the second photo. Where the road on the river makes a jog in the lower corner

Probly going up tonight

Debating taking the jeep tonight. Busted up grill that doesnt hold head lights makes it easy to pick my pickup for night driving

I gota say ive probly got 8 hours seat time in the prp daily driver now and man its comfortable the suspension actually works my back doesnt hurt after hours in the seat, the stock seat was dreadfull after a couple hours.
. I will say its a huge pain in the ass to get in and out to open then close gates.
Was wondering if tall varmints like Anak would have a easier time getting in and out of the seat. Lower jeep would definitely be helpful.

South fork of the boise river.

We had a unexpcted snow this is on a pretty Sketche rd picture doesnt do it Justine its tipped pretty hard away from the hill.
Green dodge has front chains and im rubber only. We didnt go up it snowd on us over night
Aired down my tires to 20 on the front and 10 rear and that helped alot.

Evan are you still pleased with the ironman Chinese steering brace clean? Materials seam to be decent enough? I just grabbed one for myself....

Yes it seems to be working and holding up.
I pretty much forgot about it. I was going to add some stiffners gussets and burn the Box to the rail so its not a bolt together assembly.

Its got some rock rash to. Thought about bending a bar so it isnt doesnt ever have vehichle weight on it

Currently steers and handles better than scotts wj. He cant come anywhere close to hanging with me on the Fast two track trails

Awesome to hear. I'm excited for it honestly...
Steering better than wj is impressive! For whatever reason they seam to have great steering to me.

It is all wj steering on both jeeps

Youl like the brace. It went together pretty easy.

Just an update.
No jeep stuff lately have the ford 300 mostly together, I spent about 20hours researching how to port the head then about 40hours actually grinding it.
Now the heads at the machinists getting chevy 1.94/1.60 valves

Lots of research into this thing im building it for bottom end. Ive fabbed an intake Plenum hopefully the ford 300 guys steerd me right. Plenum is sized to promote low end power and intake velocity.

For some reason ive had a hell od time getting parts like cam, chevy valves, chevy rockers, chevy hei Distributor. I swear its a ford build.

Building this has got me to wondering. Why couldn't these ford 300s be shoe horned into a jeep? Ofcourse they can

Holley sniper 2300 fuel injection is affordable. These things can pretty easily make 250 horse or go wild and make 500 plus with alittle boost.

I am going to be running a 4barrel 600cfm carb I bought from holley as a refurbished unit. Ive also orderd carb stuff from a handfull of venders to set it up for offroad. Itl be truck avenger for less than half the money.

Eventual Plans are fuel injection if I stay with this truck for awhile

Can you imagine a tourqe Monster build pushing 6-8lbs of air making 500horse playing on the dunes with paddle tires. Or blitzing across the desert at 65mph while still looking like a 4.0 under the hood.

Ive got enough parts to start a second build maybe one to go in the jeep maybe even with the ford 4speed transmission.
