un-removable drop bracket for track bar question

I have a 91 cherokee with a 3.5 in lift, the kit came with the goofy bolt in drop bracket, and due to me being a poor college student i didnt opt for the adjustable trac bar. The problem is that the "bolt in" bracket did not fit. When i called tech support they said to "bend it till it fits". I thought this was a bad idea, so I cut the front half of the old bracket off, drilled holes in the back of the new one, the welded the sides and plug-welded the back of the new bracke to its correct spot.

My question is that I want the adjustable track bar now, but can i use it with the current bracket welded on, or am i going to have to cut the bracket off and weld a factory bracket back on.
