Front Independent Cherokee 97 with 2JZ Turbo.

This is the 1st Jeep Cherokee (1997) in Indonesia, utilizing DOUBLE WISHBONE Front A-ARM dan 2JZ Engine for Offroad Racing in Jakarta, INDONESIA.

We purchase the KIT from US as Long Travel Kit for some brand and installed it on our Jeep Cherokee XJ for Offroad Racing...

Pretty sweet. Can we see pics if the frame side mounts and underneath the skid plate? And of the engine swap?

Cool build, but we need more pics/details. Looks low, how much wheel travel? What steering rack are you using? Which spindles/uprights?
Here in the usdm, a 97 would be 2nd gen, with the newer front clip, is this differant overseas?
Thanks for posting up.

thanks for all of the comments...

Thank you for such kind words...

It it quite low. TOTAL Suspension travel 12", 5-6" for compression, 6-7" for droop. We still need to cut the fenders or even raise the fenders, as the front tires need more space....
As for the rear, we modified the area where the AXLE travel up for compression, so that it still have 6-8" of wheel travel.

What steering rack are you using? - The Indonesian Cherokee is right hand side Driver, so the steering rack / boxx is on the right side, It is using the standard Cherokee / Jeep Steering Box as of right now.

=======

Actually, the whole KIT is for TOYOTA Front PARTS, BUT not the whole Toyota front clip.

We ordered a +4" inch kit from Total Chaos, then we went around looking to buy front half clip of Toyota 4WD PICKUP/HILUX. We then take the whole Front Axle Housing, as well as the front Upper and Lower A-Arm Mounting, as well as the spindle / up-right.

Next, we installed the front axle housing along with the A-Arm mounting and the spindle / up-right on the Jeep Unibody Chasis and welded everything as it should be. So the front is still one-piece Jeep Unibody, but we modify it to allow mounting point for the A-ARM, etc and strenghtened the fron using triangulation cade.

Then we opened up the refrigerator, took some beer and waiting.... and waiting.... and waiting.... for the Total Chaos kit from US to arrive in Jakarta, INDONESIA..... (it is only 16 hours flying from LAX...). Actually by Air-Freight about 10 Days, and Sea-Freight about 5 Weeks
